We're often asked, "What exactly does the United Way of Montgomery County do?"
The simplest way to answer that question is "We Help People." We help families, babies, children, teenagers, moms, dads, elderly people, people who are hungry, people coping with abuse and isolation, people who have lost a loved one, people who want to make their lives better, people who want to help other people, peop
le who need hope. Here's the key. We partner with 12 local agencies providing 14 programs to help people here in Montgomery County. Instead of focusing on one single cause or issue, we focus on many, helping the community as a whole. This way, one donation not only goes to the need that everyone is aware of, but also to those that are less obvious, but no less important. Help is available whether it's needed to provide safe daycare and early education opportunities for children, food and shelter to individuals and homeless families, or to keep an elderly person in their home longer. As you can see, these services vary widely, but they're each extremely important to the people who need them. This level of help is possible thanks to the generous people from across our county and beyond who donate to United Way. They know their contributions will be used to help our whole community, inclding people they know - whether it's neighbors, friends, co-workers, family or even themselves. They beauty is that the money raised here, stays here, where we live, work and play.
