UB Rugby Alumni Association The purpose of the UBRAA is to promote the development and growth of rugby at the State University of New York at Buffalo thru alumni support.

The UB Rugby Alumni Association (UBRAA) was founded in the summer of 2016 by former UB Rugby Head Coach Mickey McGuire and several UB Rugby alumni representing teams from the late 1970's thru the current team. The mission of the UBRAA is to promote the development and growth of rugby at the State University of New York at Buffalo thru alumni support and to keep alumni, parents, friend and supporte

The goal of the UBRAA is to develop into an organization that will not only support the team financially, but will also provide a network of alumni support across the country. Funds raised by the UBRAA will be used for travel expenses, equipment, training, recruitment and scholarships.

Hi UB Rugby Alumni,

There is a Rugby Event coming to the NYC Area this March 14-15th! It appears to be a rugby festival and the US Leg of the HSBC SVNS series held at Sports Illustrated Stadium.

An Alumnus (Eric Fristch) wanted the news to be spread, as they are hoping to see some fellow TUBAs there!

UBRAA is excited to congratulate Matt Conforti as the next alumnus featured in our UB Rugby Alumni Spotlight series!

This monthly series highlights one alumnus at a time, sharing their background, experiences with UB Rugby, and advice for current players.

This month, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on Matt Conforti. Matt played four years with UBRFC and served as a member of the executive board during his time with the team. Like many UBRFC alumni, Matt carried the lessons and skills he developed through rugby into his professional career skills he continues to rely on today.

We’re grateful to share Matt’s experiences and words of advice with our current players and fellow alumni.

UBRAA would like to congratulate Rob on being the first alumnus featured in our new series, The UB Rugby Alumni Spotlight!

We will be spotlighting an alumnus once a month in this new series to provide a brief background on them and offer advice for the current players.

This time, we are shining the spotlight on one of our incredible alumni, Rob Mercurio! Rob played for five years with UBRFC and served as an executive board member during his tenure with the team.

Rob, like many other UBRFC alumni, used what he learned during his time on the team to develop professional skills that he still relies on today.

We are happy to share a few of Rob’s words of advice and his experiences at UB Rugby with the team and other alumni!
