🎃 Happy Halloween from Our Pack! 👻

Our scouts know the motto "Be Prepared" on every outdoor adventure, Halloween night calls for a little extra preparation too! Whether your scout is navigating a busy neighborhood trail or counting their candy haul by flashlight, keeping safety first ensures a fun and spooktacular evening for everyone.

🔦 Be Prepared: Plan your route ahead of time, stick to well-lit areas, and carry a flashlight or wear reflective gear so everyone can be seen.

⚠️ Stay Safe: Travel in groups, watch for cars when crossing streets, and always have an adult check your treats before enjoying them!

🌙 From all of us in the pack, have a wonderful, safe, and happy Halloween! 🍫

🌲 Living the Scout Law: Helpfulness

Our scouts learn values that build strong character and lifelong leadership skills. At the heart of our pack are the points of the Scout Law; guiding principles that shape how our scouts treat others, their communities, and the world around them.

🐺 What is the Scout Law?
The Scout Law is a set of twelve core virtues that every scout promises to live by. From being trustworthy and loyal to being thrifty and brave, these principles provide a roadmap for everyday actions, both in scouting and in life.

🎗️Why is it Important?
While scouting teaches practical outdoor skills, the real magic happens in the character built along the way. The Scout Law transforms good intentions into daily habits, teaching children empathy, responsibility, and what it truly means to be a dependable community member.

🧭 Today We’re Highlighting: Helpfulness

"A Scout is helpful."
Whether it’s helping a younger sibling with homework, pitching in to set up camp, or lending a hand to a neighbor, helpfulness is about stepping up without being asked. It’s the simple act of noticing when someone needs support and taking action with a cheerful spirit.

What’s one thing your scout did to be helpful this week? Let us know in the comments below! 👇

👏 Community Claps! 👏

Shout-out to one of our absolute favorite local gathering spots: Brookside Park!

If you haven't explored this 82-acre scenic greenspace yet, it is definitely worth checking out with the kids. We love hosting our den meetings surrounded by the rushing river, mature trees, walking trails, and bountiful playgrounds. It's such a great Ames community space. 🌲 🧭 🥾
