A work in progress! Sculptor Craig Campbell holding the maquette, or model, of what will become a life-sized bronze statue of a Long Path hiker resting on a bench near the new Altamont Long Path kiosk.
Our Altamont statue needs a name...please help! Submit name suggestions at the Altamont Free Library or online at www.historicaltamont.org
The selected name will be announced in June!

Did you know that every year Stewart's Shops customers donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Stewart's Holiday Match Program and that Stewart's matches every one one of those dollars with one of their own to benefit local organizations that support children and families? Well, now you do!

On behalf of Historic Altamont and Altamont Free Library, we would like to thank Stewart's for their generous donation of $500 towards a collaborative project that we think you're all going to love. We look forward to announcing more details in the near future, so stay tuned!

But also on behalf of both Historic Altamont and ourselves, we want to give appreciation to the hardest-working person in the Village, Stewart's Manager Carmen Patrone. She never stops, never slows down, seems to know nearly every customer by name and always keeps a dozen balls in the air at all times without dropping one. Carmen is an Altamont institution, and she makes every morning stop in at Stewart's a delight.

Thank you to Jodi Novak Wey, Bill Johnson, Dave Bourque, Bob Casey and Deborah Barnes-Breitenbach from Historic Altamont for joining us for the check presentation this morning. Getting cartoonishly oversized checks is always fun.

Thank you Stewart's and Carmen for all you do for our community!
