Camp Lovejoy

Camp Lovejoy Camp Lovejoy is the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady's very own summer Day Camp located in Altamont. Lunch and an afternoon snack are included in the fee.

A summer at Camp Lovejoy is an amazing experience for youth in Schenectady! Each morning, for seven weeks, busses roll into the campgrounds and more than 200 inner-city youth stream down the steps greeted by smiling, caring Camp Counselors. Camp Lovejoy is a summer haven, engaging Boys & Girls Club members in exciting programs and providing opportunity for new friendships, experiences and lasting

memories. Enrolled campers are transported daily by bus to Camp Lovejoy. Parents may also drive campers to and from camp if they choose or if busses are full. All campers enjoy a wide range of activities including daily swims, swim lessons, sports, Project Adventure, arts & crafts, dance, science & nature, and more more! Specialty Camp programs are included in the price of tuition and take place during the morning session at Camp Lovejoy. When you register for camp, select your camper's preference! Specialty Camp programs run for 2 week sessions.

🚍 Camp Lovejoy Bus Update! 🏕️

Please note our updated bus schedule for Summer 2025! Due to construction at Bradt School, a new stop has been added at Rollarama (2710 Hamburg Street) for Bus D. Huge thank you to Rollarama Skating Center for stepping in to help us keep camp rolling! 🙌

Be sure to have your camper at the stop 10 minutes before the listed pick-up time. Full schedule is below—thank you for your flexibility and see you at camp! 🌞

🌞 Summer is set to start sizzling at Camp Lovejoy and SPARC!

Not only do our campers at Camp Lovejoy and SPARC get amazing activities all summer long, but they also get lunch included (for just $75 per week)!

From cheeseburgers and chicken parm to fresh fruit and chocolate milk, there’s something delicious on the menu every day. And our staff know exactly what our campers like — so they leave happy, full, and ready for more summer fun!

Due to rain, Family Night will be held at the AWG Clubhouse this evening from 6:15 - 8pm.

Come out to see dance performances, arts & crafts, and specialty camp displays. Enjoy all the great things our kids have been working on all summer in the comfort of AWG.

Hot dogs, hamburgers and snacks will be available for sale. We look forward to seeing everyone tonight!

Camp Lovejoy campers and their families are invited to join us at camp on Thursday, August 8th from 6:15 to 8pm to see all the great things happening at camp this summer! We’ll have dance performances, arts & crafts on display and presentations from some specialty camp programs. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be on the grill and available for purchase. Permission slips with bus information for families went home Monday afternoon. We look forward to welcoming everyone to Camp Lovejoy this Thursday! Please note that the rain location for this event will be the AWG Clubhouse.
