Box Butte General Hospital Box Butte General Hospital (BBGH) is dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of Box Butte County Box Butte General Hospital is the successor of St.

Joseph Hospital, taking over the mission of serving the health care needs of Box Butte County and the surrounding area in 1976. The hospital is a non-profit facility, owned by the citizens of Box Butte County, dedicated to serving the needs of residents and visitors alike. BBGH is accredited by The Joint Commission, the nation's predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care since 1951 and is a designated basic level trauma center. Box Butte General Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital with 25-beds for all patient types - acute, observation, swing, intensive care and OB, with a staff of over 300 employees providing a variety of services, including:

24/7 Emergency Department; Orthopedic Surgery; Laboratory; Medical Imaging (X-ray, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, Advanced Ultrasound Imaging, Bone Density/DEXA Scan); Diabetic Education; Dialysis; Obstetrics, Oncology, Rehabilitation (including Cardiac-Pulmonary Rehab, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Sports Rehab and Speech Therapy); Respiratory Therapy; ElectroDiagnostics; Wound Care; Respite Care; Swing Bed and Behavioral Health. BBGH offers a variety of outpatient services through its Multi-Specialty Clinic. Current specialties offered include: Cardiology; ENT; General Surgery; Gynecology; Plastic Surgery; Oncology; Ophthalmology; Orthopedic Surgery; Oral Surgery; Behavioral Health; Podiatry; and Pulmonology. The Hospital also has three Greater Nebraska Medical & Surgical Services (GNMSS) clinics. One of them in the Medical Arts Plaza in Alliance that includes Family Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine. Two satellite GNMSS clinics are located in Hemingford and Hyannis: the Hemingford Clinic and the Hyannis Clinic (located in the Cow Country Health Center). Core Values:

Congratulations to Sandy Mundt, Environmental Services Technician! She is BBGH's October Employee of the Month! Thank you, Sandy, for your dedication and hard work. We appreciate all the you do!

Her nomination reads, “I nominate Sandy because she exhibits the BBGH values of Compassion and Teamwork. I would like to nominate Sandy because I truly believe her hard work and dedication deserve to be recognized. She consistently takes on an incredible amount of work, including covering two areas, and she does it without expecting recognition for everything she does. I work closely with her, so I have the opportunity to see just how much she accomplishes behind the scenes, work that may not always be appreciated by everyone else. Because I come in later than the rest of the team, she makes a point of getting as much completed as possible before I arrive. Her effort makes an enormous difference in my workload and in our ability to keep everything running smoothly. There are many nights when I know I would be completely overwhelmed if she had not already taken care of so much. What stands out to me most is that she continues to work hard even when that effort isn’t always recognized. It can be easy to notice the small things that are not perfect while overlooking the much larger amount of work someone completes every day. I think it is important that dedication, initiative, teamwork, and the willingness to carry a heavy workload are noticed, too. I see how much she takes on, and I want her to know that her work is seen and genuinely appreciated. She is an extremely valuable part of our department, and my job would be considerably more difficult without her. I believe the employee of the month award should recognize someone whose work makes a meaningful difference to both their coworkers and the organization. Sandy absolutely does that, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of that recognition.”

"After missing most of last season due to a broken foot, Kimber came into this season ready to work hard and regain her strength. Through her determination, perseverance, and dedication, she has made steady progress and continued to improve throughout the season. Her hard work has paid off, as she has earned medals in five of the six meets she has competed in! Even more impressively, Kimber has earned a spot on our school record board with the fourth-fastest girls’ 5K time in school history! We are incredibly proud of Kimber and all she has accomplished this season. Her comeback is a testament to her hard work and determination!"
