Discover the Story of the Spade Ranch

Now on display at the Knight Museum & Sandhills Center is a comprehensive new exhibit exploring one of the most influential ranching operations in Nebraska.

Featuring 26 interpretive panels, visitors can journey through the history of the Spade Ranch, the people who built it, and the realities of daily life on the ranch. Historic photographs, maps, stories, and research bring this remarkable chapter of Nebraska history to life.

To complement the exhibit, Steve Cleveland will join us next week for a special presentation, discussion, and question-and-answer session. Whether you have family ties to the Spade, an interest in ranching history, or simply enjoy learning about the Sandhills, this is a program you won’t want to miss.

Celebrate America 250 at the Knight Museum & Sandhills Center

The Knight Museum & Sandhills Center is honored to host a special display courtesy of the Point of Rock Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) as part of the nationwide America 250 commemoration.

This patriotic exhibit highlights the founding of our nation through reproductions of historic documents, educational materials, books, and information about the DAR's mission to preserve history, promote education, and inspire patriotism.

As our nation approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026, we invite you to stop by, explore the display, and reflect on the people and principles that shaped the United States.
