🌸 CARING FOR CHILDREN WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED TRAUMA

Are you a parent or caregiver supporting a child who has experienced trauma? You’re not alone.

OnPoint is offering a FREE 4-session Resource Parent Series designed to provide practical tools and information to help caregivers better understand and support children who have experienced trauma.

Topics include:
Types of trauma and how it impacts children and families
How trauma affects the brain and behavior
What it means to be a trauma-informed caregiver
Practical strategies for managing emotional and behavioral responses
Taking care of yourself as a caregiver

The series is taught by OnPoint staff using a curriculum developed by the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN).

🚗 Help a Teen Get Their Driver’s License!

We are looking for assistance for a hardworking teen who has completed their driving classes but is unable to afford the $150 needed to take their driving test.

Having their license would help them get to school, appointments, and eventually a job independently.

Having a safe, stable place to live is an important part of their journey, and a camper could provide the temporary housing they need while they work toward getting their family back together.

Sharing this great resource from the Allegan County Community Foundation! ❤️

Transportation can be a major barrier to education, and we’re grateful to see organizations working together to remove those obstacles. This grant is helping Allegan Online & Adult Education provide bus passes so more students can access the support they need to succeed.

We received a request from a worker looking for some kitchen items including cookware items (pots, pans and silverware), and a microwave.

Don’t miss out on free meals for your kids this summer! Each week, children 18 and younger can receive a box with 14 meals, including shelf stable milk, fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy proteins, and snacks. All items are tree nut and peanut free. No application needed. Children do not need to be present during pickup. Meals are available on a first come, first served basis.

Pickup takes place each Wednesday, June 10 through August 19, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Allegan Area ESA Tech Center parking lot.
