Sharing this great resource from the Allegan County Community Foundation! ❤️

Transportation can be a major barrier to education, and we’re grateful to see organizations working together to remove those obstacles. This grant is helping Allegan Online & Adult Education provide bus passes so more students can access the support they need to succeed.

We received a request from a worker looking for some kitchen items including cookware items (pots, pans and silverware), and a microwave.

Don’t miss out on free meals for your kids this summer! Each week, children 18 and younger can receive a box with 14 meals, including shelf stable milk, fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy proteins, and snacks. All items are tree nut and peanut free. No application needed. Children do not need to be present during pickup. Meals are available on a first come, first served basis.

Pickup takes place each Wednesday, June 10 through August 19, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Allegan Area ESA Tech Center parking lot.

A local family of four (two adults and two children) is currently in need of community support. The family is seeking the following items:

• Diapers (sizes 3 and 7)

*****UPDATE: NEED HAS BEEN FULLFILLED**********
Seeking assistance for a 10-year-old child in need of an indoor sensory tent. A swing stand and small sensory pod have already been provided; however, the tent component needed to create a complete calming sensory space has not yet been secured.

The child is currently at the upper end of the size and weight limits for the sensory pod, making it a temporary solution. Unfortunately, the cost of an appropriate sensory tent is beyond the family's budget.

The specific item being requested is linked in the amazon wish list below. If anyone is able to purchase the item, donate a gently used sensory tent, or share resources that may help, it would make a meaningful difference for this child and family.

We recently spoke with a Community Resource Coordinator from Allegan MDHHS, and they shared that there is a growing need for bicycles in our community — especially adult bikes.

With summer here, having a bike can make a huge difference for transportation to work, appointments, grocery trips, and simply getting around safely and independently.

Summer also means garage sale season! If you happen to come across an affordable bike while out shopping garage sales this summer, would you consider purchasing and donating it to help someone in need? Even one bike can make a big impact.

Do you have a gently used bike sitting in your garage or shed that you’d be willing to donate? Adult bikes are especially needed, but we’d love to hear about any available bikes.
