When we launched our first program in Mongolia, we focused on tree planting to support their nationwide goal of planting 5 billion trees. 🌳 With just a small group of volunteers, we were able to put a substantial number of roots in the ground.

The real reward came a year later when we returned and saw that those exact trees had doubled in size. Getting to that point required some creative problem-solving, particularly with coordinating water access at the right times. Fortunately, the local community members we worked with were so forward-thinking, welcoming, and helpful that it made the challenges much easier to navigate together. 💙

On June 30th, our team departs to keep this momentum going.

Can a single trip change the entire trajectory of your life? 💭

Just ask Julia.

When Julia first connected with Trek Relief back in 2023 during our Nepal program, she was openly searching for her path in this world. She didn’t just want to travel; she wanted to travel with a deep sense of purpose.

Fast forward to today: Julia is now the Program Director for the Trek Relief Mongolia Program! 💙💧 When the chance arose to re-engage and rebuild the Mongolia initiative, her intuition told her it was a "full yes".

This June 30th, she is officially taking her next team out to the field. Our volunteer spots for this trip are completely filled, but the community initiatives they are working on still need our collective backing.

Last May 16th, we did it. Together, we raised $10,000 for the 10th Anniversary of Trek Relief. 🏔️✨

What does that actually mean?

That's 2–3 new Program Directors. That's 10+ new Trip Leaders. That's communities across the world that Trek Relief will reach in the next decade that we couldn't reach today.

To everyone who walked through those doors last night — thank you for making me feel every single year of this work in the best possible way. To everyone who donated from across the world — I want you to know that your generosity reached further than you can imagine. You didn't just donate to a campaign. You invested in people.

Meet Harmony Riveros — Peru Program Director and the mind behind Trek Relief's Clean Energy Solutions program.

She joined as a participant in Patagonia in 2023 — and less than a year later, she was running her own program in Peru, installing solar panels at two orphanages in the Sacred Valley, benefiting 41 children and staff.
