A man came out of prison, but more importantly, he came out with hope.
… This STORY!! From Tragedy to Triumph! “I believe that God preserved my life all those years for a purpose.” -Patrick Asata

Together, we are GIVING HOPE a PLACE to CALL HOME!!
We bless the Lord Jesus for a successful, though challenging, mission yesterday.
By God's grace, we were able to support Patrick as he returned to his community. However, because he was previously imprisoned in connection with the death of his mother..a matter he continues to deny and one that carries deep pain and complexity—the family was not prepared to fully receive him back into the home.
According to family and cultural circumstances following his mother's death, his house was burned and his inheritance (his portion of the family land) was sold. As a result, he no longer has a place within the family property.
During our pre-visit, the family shared that they had forgiven Patrick and were willing to welcome him home. Sadly, that was not the reality we encountered. Upon arrival, they informed us that he could not remain there.
Faced with this unexpected situation, we had to leave with Patrick and seek immediate assistance.
We contacted another former inmate whom we successfully reintegrated in December and asked if he could host Patrick for the night while we determined the next steps.
By God's grace, we were able to
secure a house for Patrick in Kitale and pay his rent. This morning, we provided transportation for him to travel there safely.
We are grateful to report that Patrick has now arrived safely at his new home in Kitale.
We continue to pray and trust God to help him rebuild his life and begin anew.
RIO/PMI were also able to bless Patrick with a sewing machine and essential kitchen utensils to help him establish himself and move forward with dignity and hope.
RIO/PMI family, we are forever grateful for the sacrifices you make and for your faithful obedience to God's calling. Your support helps create opportunities for restoration, stability, and hope for individuals navigating difficult transitions. May God richly bless each of you. We love you!
Shalom!
🕧Update: Patrick safely arrived in Kitale at approximately 4:00 PM.
