NMABE NMABE supports bilingual educators' work and growth statewide.

We believe bilingual education benefits all students, embraces NM's cultural diversity, and promotes excellence through advocacy, professional development, and research. The mission of NMABE, a diverse, dedicated community of education stakeholders, is to foster, encourage, and promote bilingualism for all children in an environments that nurtures the rich cultural and linguistic diversity of the state through advocacy, professional development, networking and current research application and dissemination.

ABE-NM is now accepting proposals for the 2027 conference, and we want to hear from YOU!

If you have strategies, experiences, programs, or ideas that are making a difference for bilingual and multilingual students, this is your opportunity to share your knowledge with educators from across New Mexico.

The 2026 National Spanish Spelling Bee brought together outstanding student spellers from across the nation on July 10–11 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Congratulations to every participant for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to bilingualism and biliteracy. We are honored to celebrate these remarkable students and everyone who helped make this event a success.

What a great night celebrating excellence in bilingual education!
So many inspiring people were recognized for their work. The room was full of passion, culture, and community. The dinner brought everyone together, and Second2Last kept the energy high!
Grateful to be part of a space where people show up for students and each other. Congratulations to everyone honored. Well deserved!
