5.11 Todays share it’s for a family of four. I honestly didn’t think that I was going to have enough groceries to make this happen. And once again, I am so pleasantly surprised that I did have enough including some extra beans and rice and tuna and things from my personal family pantry to round it out a bit. It is like fishes and loaves over here sometimes, most times.

Having said all that, I am absolutely out of groceries to share, except for a tiny little bag of miscellaneous items. I have started a waitlist and I have one family on there. If you refer folks to Generous Hearts, please let them know that I have a waitlist and I will be going down the list from first on down as soon as I get some more groceries. This is the second time in about 18 years that I have had to start a waiting list, (I do provide other resources). I was told that I would have to turn people away when I first started this and my waiting list is the closest that I’ve come to that, but I refuse to tell hungry families no and the universe always seems to work it out for Generous Hearts.

Howdy neighbors! I have some news to share. It has been a very busy few weeks with Generous Hearts and lots of families and my pantry is depleted. I had a family today and I have one on Monday that I have pulled from my own pantry and what I had from GH to share food with folks.

I am not able to share any groceries after Monday as I will be totally out and will have depleted quite a bit in my pantry. So if you were referring folks to Generous Hearts, you can still do that, and I will share another resource and put them on a waiting list. If you do share my info with folks, please do let them know that I will have a waiting list. I hate to have to do this, but that is my only option at this point until I get some more groceries.

Some good news now. I was told about a distribution that is happening tomorrow and will be happening the first Friday of every month going forward and it will be in the INTEL area of Rio Rancho. If you would like to go to this distribution, I will send you the information. You do need to text me and say that you are texting about the distribution. I don’t want to put it out there and have a lot of people show up because this is going to be their first time.

5.7 Todays share is for a family of 6. This share was not on my bingo card for today, however due to a work schedule change and sharing a vehicle, today became the day. I’m getting really good at doing these quick turnarounds as I have my system down pat. Mostly, maybe? 🙃

Hubby and I also trimmed the branches so that I and anyone else who comes to the table do not lose an eye. My son and I both came close a few days ago so off the branches went and my hubby is so excited because now he has kindling. Yikes! I have the hose at the ready. If you see smoke around Unser and McMahon, it’s my hubby sending smoke signals. 💨🔥

4.24 PHEWWW! GH has not been this busy since Covid. I am whupped and happy that so many families/people have enough food and hygiene items to last at least 2 weeks.

Today's share is for a family of 7, one is a tail wagger. I had shared all of the granddogs food that I had a few days ago, so sadly didn't have any to share. I did let them know of a pet food pantry and how the animal shelters will share small amounts of food.

A nice day to be outside and while I enjoy the shade over the food tables, I keep poking myself and almost shish kebabed my eye today. Hubby is excited to trim them and has been asking me if I want them done and I keep saying no. I said yes today and now I fear the tree will be a sapling when he is done…🤣

4.23 Todays second share is also for 3 adults. Their caseworker reached out and GH was happy to lend a hand. The caseworker was going to be here for the other family anyway and will be dropping this one off.

I had a few small and cozy blankets a sweet friend made and since it is still chilly overnight I am happy they have a new home.

I used white shopping bags for this family, so that’ll be easy to unpack the car, she’ll have the other familys items in her car as well

The tree branches over this table, tried to take me out again today and sadly, I might have to have my husband cut the branches before I lose an eyeball. Hubby is happy as he now has a small project that requires tools (saw). I am getting the first aid kit ready. 😋

Anyone else notice how thin the grocery bags are? This batch is so thin they are one sided 🙂🤣.
Had to pack them very light today.
