A Vert Thankful Heart ❤️

As we continue building the First-Stop Home to serve children in foster care, we knew one thing was certain: every home needs a gathering place. With our beautiful dining room, we dreamed of a table where everyone who enters our doors can share a meal together like family.

A massive, heartfelt thank you Jame Gore for hand-building this beautiful 10-foot farmhouse table specifically for the First-Stop Home! It is our understanding that Mr. Gore has only ever built three of these incredible tables before - one for his own home, one for each of his sons, and now this precious fourth one for our home.

Not Alone is a true community project, and we are so deeply honored and proud to have a piece of the Gore family legacy living on within these walls for years to come.

Thank you, Jamie, for pouring your craftsmanship and heart into a place of belonging and healing for all that will enter this home. 🙏✨

We want to send a massive thank you to our incredible friends at Albertville Pizza Hut for partnering with Not Alone during their Fall Festival on October 10th!

Thanks to their generosity and community spirit, they hosted a wonderful collection drive for baby items to stock our giving room. Because of their support, we can stand together to help make a hard day better.

We are so grateful for local businesses like Pizza Hut that step up, serve, and pour back into our community. It takes a village, and we are blessed to have them in ours!

Help Us Equip the First-Stop Home 🏡 for Medical Readiness! 🩺❤️

At Not Alone, our mission is to ensure every child entering foster care and the dedicated social workers supporting them feels safe, cared for, and secure from the moment they step through our doors.

Part of creating a safe place means being fully prepared for life's unexpected moments. We are actively seeking a Community Medical Partner (or local doctor's office/medical provider) to help us equip the Not Alone First-Stop Home with essential emergency medical supplies.

What We Need:
• Two Fully Stocked First Aid Kits: Comprehensive, high-quality kits to handle day-to-day scrapes, bumps, and minor emergencies.
• An Automated External Defibrillator (AED): An AED is a big expense, but if having one on-site saves even a single life, it is an irreplaceable investment in the safety of the one it helps.

This home is built by the community, for the community’s children. If you are a medical provider or practice in our area and would like to help sponsor or provide these critical medical safety resources, please send us a direct message or reach out to us today!

Each month, Not Alone serves our local child welfare social workers ❤️ because we deeply appreciate everything they do. Their work is complex, often overwhelming, and rarely receives the recognition it deserves. We want to ensure our social workers know they are never standing alone!

Our September Social Worker Appreciation Gift was led by our very own Brittanee Johnson who wanted to provide these dedicated professionals with time for relaxation, self-care, or family bonding.
A massive 90% of the social workers we serve chose the Relaxation Package, which featured:

* A choice of a manicure or pedicure generously donated by New Beginning College of Cosmetology

* A 10-minute neck massage provided by Jubilee Family Chiropractic

We extend our deepest gratitude to New Beginnings School of Cosmetology and Jubilee Family Chiropractic for providing this entire self-care package at no cost to Not Alone! Their significant contribution allowed us to provide generous entertainment gift cards from Lucas Cinemas and Alleyway Entertainment for those who selected the family bonding package.

Thank you to Brittanee for organizing such a thoughtful month, and a heartfelt thank you to every individual community member who contributed directly to this project. We are only able to do what we do each day because of the generous support of community members like you standing with us.

The eagle..no…THE PLAYHOUSE HAS LANDED! 🏡✨

We are so happy to share that the very special Not Alone First-Stop Home Playhouse has safely arrived… home!

This Playhouse has been a labor of love from our incredible community, and its journey is a story of teamwork, talent, and generosity:

* The Foundation: It all started with a special Bible study men’s group who originally built the frame for last year’s Christmas parade.

* The Craftsmanship: The talented students at Albertville Innovation Academy (Albertville FFA), led by Mr. Golden, stepped in to complete the build, turning it into an absolute top-quality masterpiece!

* The Heavy Lifting: Moving a full-size playhouse was no small task! A huge shoutout to 5H Industrial and Whitaker towing for teaming up and making this special delivery at no cost to Not Alone!

This beautiful playhouse was built with a purpose, to serve as a place of comfort, joy, and peace for children as they enter foster care.

We are beyond blessed to be part of a community that pours so much heart, skill, and time into making hard days better for local children. Thank you to every single person who played a part in bringing this dream home! ❤️

We know it has been several days since there has been an update on Leo’s Journey, but rest assured, life with the Miller family has been as busy, loving, and heartwarming as ever.
Over the past week and a half, everyday moments have been filled with high-fives from David over breakfast, funny stories shared with Maya on the bus ride to school, and evenings spent practicing soccer with Sarah after homework is done.
Leo has been absolutely thriving and is excelling in the third grade, pouring his energy into everything from science projects to family game nights. With his biological mother moving out of state, Leo has rebounded from the hurt although it still comes out occasionally. The path is fully cleared, and the Millers have officially received an upcoming adoption date to make things permanent! Leo is eagerly counting down the days until he legally becomes a Miller forever, though as he loves to remind everyone, in their hearts they have been a family all along.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, our first wishlist release resulted in 117 shares and 117 items purchased! We are blown away by how this community has rallied around us to help build and now furnish this home.
