We come to you this morning asking for contributions for literally the FREAKIEST medical situation we've dealt with in our six years as a nonprofit.
Zebbie is a nine pound elderly Chihuahua. About three weeks ago, unbeknownst to his people, he swallowed a popsicle stick. He continued to eat, drink, and relieve himself as usual, although he began acting like his belly hurt. Tuesday night they noticed a knot on his side. Yesterday they pulled back the blanket he was lying under and made a shocking discovery. Zebbie had a large hole on his side with a popsicle stick poking out!!
Dr. Clarke Garrett at McCrory Animal Clinic did an amazing job removing the popsicle stick. Now sweet Zebbie has a rough road to recovery. He has a large incision on his side where the stick made it's exit, and another large incision on his belly where Dr. Garrett had to remove the section lodged in his stomach.
It's truly amazing that Zebbie is still with us here on earth considering the popsicle stick is longer than Zebbie is wide!
MCAA is very low on funds at this time. But there's no way we could turn away this sweet pup in his urgent time of need. Please donate if you feel so led. And while it sounds like an old cliche EVERY DOLLAR HELPS!
The second comment below will contain photos. They aren't "gory" but they are startling. The first comment will list ways to donate.
Thank you all, from Zebbie, his family, and all of us at MCAA. ❤️
