Hello y'all! My name is Dawson and I am 1 year old male. I got adopted at Second Chance Shelter in Boaz, Alabama on October 10, 2026. Yay! Happy Dance! I get my second chance in life with a family that loves me. How great is that!

I was rescued by Albertville Animal Control on Barnes Street in Albertville, Alabama. I came to Second Chance Shelter in Boaz, Alabama on September 24, 2026. I am so happy that nothing bad happened to me while I was trying to survive on my own. My family has 9 acres of land and a large fenced in area too. When I am not inside, I will making new adventures, new memories and playing with all of my new family friends. I love them already. They are huge Alabama fans so I just learned how to bark Roll Tide! :)

Hello Y'all. My name is Laverne. I have been hanging out along with my sister Shirley at our Second Chance Shelter Hidden Gems Thrift Store # 2 in Albertville, Alabama for most of the summer. We are still looking to be adopted. Please share our post and help us find our forever families. After other shelter dogs were adopted at the thrift store, it was our turn to leave Second Chance Shelter in Boaz, Alabama to come to the thrift store so more people would see us and hopefully we would be adopted. That has not happened yet as we watch dog after dog get adopted. It is almost time for us to return to the shelter if we do not get adopted. I don't want to have to go back to the shelter and Shirley doesn't either. Help us get adopted so we don't have to return to the shelter.

We are open from 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday. The SCS Thrift Store is located at 6485 US Highway 431 South in Albertville, Alabama. We are across the street from Autozone. Come visit us and shop some while you are here. You can call the shelter at 256-561-2411 if you have any questions about Laverne or Shirley you can call the SCS Thrift Store at 256-660-0423 if you need any other information.
