Yesterday was an incredible day for our Albany chapter as we built a record-breaking 56 beds in a SINGLE build! 🎉🙌

A very special THANK YOU to James Harris & Co. for sponsoring a bed build for the third year in a row! Because of their continued generosity and support, we’ve been able to build more than 140 beds to date! 💙

We’re also so grateful for the amazing turnout from our community! Volunteers gave just a few hours of their time to make a BIG difference in the lives of 56 children. Every bed represents a better night’s sleep, a place to dream, peace of mind, and a reminder to a child that their community cares.

This is what happens when a community comes together with a shared mission! Thank you to everyone who helped make this record-breaking day possible! 🫶

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the amazing children of ConnectKIDS at Leesburg Methodist Church for their generous donation through their Mission Cup offering!

Each month, these incredible kids collect loose change from their congregation to support local mission organizations making a difference in our community. This month, they chose Sleep in Heavenly Peace, and their generosity has made a lasting impact! ❤️

Their $275 donation has fully funded a bed for a child in our community! 🛏️💙 This means a local child will have a safe, comfortable place to sleep and the opportunity for years of better rest, sweeter dreams, and brighter tomorrows.

We are so grateful to ConnectKIDS, Leesburg Methodist Church, and everyone who contributed to this special offering. What a beautiful example of teaching children the power of giving, serving others, and sharing God's love right here in our community!

Thank you for helping us make sure NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN! 💙

51 beds in 3 hours! 🪵🔨

Today, 70 incredible volunteers from across Albany came together for Bunks Across America to make sure no child in our community has to sleep on the floor.

It takes a village, and today Albany truly showed up. Because of your time, sweat, and heart, 51 local children will lay their heads down in a warm, comfortable bed of their own tonight.

Thank you to every single person who picked up a drill, sanded a board, or helped make today possible. We are so proud of what our community can accomplish when we work together! 💙

Stay tuned for more pictures from our build today!

Thousands of children in America don't have a safe place to sleep.

This impacts their well-being and academic performance, but SHP is changing that! Be a part of the solution during the Bunks Across America nationwide event on, September 12, 2026. There's still time to sign up to join our bed build open to the community!

The national goal of 15,000 volunteers building 12,000 beds across 250 communities will provide hope to families in need and make a difference in ending child bedlessness.
