The Marching Patriots competed against 12 bands from Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Georgia this weekend in Memphis, TN.

They earned :

3rd place in the Red Division.
6th place overall against the 12 bands.
Our Drum Major Bryanna Scott won Best Drum Major out of all 12 bands!
Our Prim & Proper Patriettes won Best Danceline/Auxiliary out of all 12 bands!

The students represented Westover EXTREMELY well this weekend!

CELEBRATION OF LIFE for our beloved Anesia Oliver-Banister will be this Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11am to be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church - 901 South Westover Blvd. Arrangements handled by Martin Luther King Jr Funeral Home

The Westover Marching Patriots Band Boosters will be presenting an appreciation plaque to Mrs. Anesia Oliver-Banister husband and son. It'll also have a picture of her and the Westover Marching Band logo. If anyone would like to make a monetary donation to the cause. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Alumni, Band Booster Executive President /Member/Parent , Leader, Motivator, but most of all; our dear Friend Anesia Oliver-Banister. Anesia, loved the band and worked tirelessly to make sure her “babies” were taken care of and had what they needed. As an alumni of Westover High School & Marching Band, Anesia was passionate and empathetic to those she came in contact with and enjoyed working with her fellow band booster members/parents and welcomed them with an open heart. Even in her sickness we experienced her as a very positive-thinking, strong,faithful, respectful, fun-loving and nimble-minded person who enjoyed exploring new topics as Mr. Eaddy’s right-hand lady. By going beyond the call of duty, Anesia always found gentle and heart-warming words of comfort given to her “babies”, booster parents, and community.
We will miss her as being the pilar of our band booster & meetings. We remain with a deep feeling of gratitude for everything she has done and to have been blessed to know her. Our heart goes out to her family and loved ones. We love you, Anesia!!!

It is imperative that all parents attend the upcoming Westover Band Booster meeting on Tuesday, July 15th at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held at Live Oak Elementary School.
