Unity Point Counseling & Resource Center No one will be denied access to services due to the inability to pay. There is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income.

Our 12-week Parenting Class is designed for parents and caregivers who want to strengthen their understanding of child development and build practical parenting skills. Topics include developmental stages and age-appropriate expectations, positive discipline, the impact of trauma on children and parenting, healthy relationships and communication, boundary-setting, resilience, and understanding how family patterns and personal experiences can influence parenting. Parents will explore and practice healthy strategies to strengthen connection, respond more effectively to challenges, and create a supportive family environment.

We often recommend pairing the Parenting Class with our Anger Management and Emotional Regulation Class, offered immediately afterward for an additional hour. While each class can be taken separately, they complement one another by helping parents understand emotional triggers, practice coping and regulation skills, and learn how to co-regulate with their children during times of distress. Together, the classes provide practical tools for strengthening emotional regulation, communication, relationships, and overall family functioning.
