๐ Meet my Miss Oklahoma Stars!!! ๐
Maddie and Zoey were both in the very first Learn to Skate class I ever taughtโMaddie at 4 and Zoey at 6, and I still see them every week, on and off the ice.
โญ๏ธ Since then, Iโve had the opportunity to mentor Maddie over the years through the Miss Oklahoma stars program as Iโve held different titles by inviting her to events, including her in appearances, cheering her on at her ice skating competitions, and celebrating each step of her journey. Iโve watched her grow from a little girl finding her footing on the ice into someone confident and driven.
โญ๏ธ This is Zoeyโs first year as a Miss Oklahoma Star, and it has been a full circle moment. With her, mentorship has shown up in the in-between momentsโreminding her how well she cares for her younger siblings, encouraging the way she shows up to help her mom while sheโs coaching on the ice, celebrating her at skating competitions and speaking confidence into who she already is and who she is becoming.
In figure skating, we say weโre not just raising good athletesโweโre raising great people. The Miss Oklahoma Organization carries that same mission. Not just creating princesses, but raising strong, confident women.
Getting to step onto the Miss Oklahoma stage with them this June is a reminder that the seeds you plant early have a way of growing into something really special ๐ฉท๐
