The East Central University Foundation is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven leader to join our team as Chief Advancement Officer!

This key leadership position will help grow ECU’s fundraising efforts, strengthen relationships with alumni and donors, increase visibility, and lead major fundraising campaigns and initiatives that support the future of East Central University and the ECU Foundation.

The ideal candidate will bring:
• Proven fundraising or sales experience
• Strong leadership and relationship-building skills
• Experience developing and executing strategic plans
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• A passion for advancing the mission and vision of ECU

The Chief Advancement Officer will work closely with university leadership, the ECU Foundation Board, alumni, donors, faculty, staff, and community partners to create meaningful opportunities and drive the university forward.

🎓 Alumni Spotlight: Riley McCage ’25

Congratulations to ECU alumnus Riley McCage on being named a 2026 NextGen Under 30 Oklahoma Award recipient in the Sports & Outdoors category!

Riley earned his degree in business from East Central University in 2025 and is making a meaningful impact through his work with the Chickasaw Nation Education Department.

After growing up in the Chickasaw Nation and participating in programs that helped shape his own journey, Riley now gives back by developing and leading the Collegiate Student Athlete Program. Through this program, he helps Native student-athletes navigate the recruiting process, pursue higher education, and achieve their goals both on and off the field.

“Every day, I have the opportunity to help Native student-athletes navigate the recruiting process, pursue higher education, and achieve their goals both on and off the field,” Riley said. “I look forward to continuing to serve, grow, and create opportunities for the next generation of student-athletes.”

Riley’s commitment to service, leadership, and creating opportunities for others represents the very best of the ECU alumni community. We are proud to celebrate Riley and this well-deserved recognition!

🎓 Alumni Spotlight: Diego Armando Cifuentes ’25

Congratulations to ECU alumnus Diego Armando Cifuentes on being named a 2026 NextGen Under 30 Oklahoma honoree in the Public Policy & Public Service category!

A first-generation graduate, Diego earned his bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in communications from East Central University in 2025. He credits the education, mentorship, and leadership opportunities he received at ECU with helping prepare him for this exciting achievement.

Diego continues to serve his community as Chair of the City of Ada Multiculturalism Committee. In this role, he works alongside community partners to celebrate diversity, strengthen connections, and create opportunities for others.

“I am grateful to the faculty, staff, mentors, and classmates who believed in me throughout my journey. I am proud to continue representing ECU through public service and leadership.”

We are proud to celebrate Diego and the meaningful impact he is making in Ada and across Oklahoma.

The East Central University Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Linn as its next Chief Executive Officer, effective at the Foundation’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday, October 27, at 10:30 a.m. in Foundation Hall, located inside the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center at 830 E. Main St. on the ECU campus.

Scott’s leadership, experience and commitment to East Central University will help guide the Foundation into its next chapter. The Foundation also extends its sincere gratitude to President Emeritus John Hargrave for his extraordinary leadership and many years of dedicated service to ECU and the ECU Foundation.

Please join us in congratulating Scott on his appointment and thanking John for his lasting contributions to East Central University.
