Report illegal littering and dumping and get results!

Our litter enforcement rangers have written the first gross littering ticket for illegal tire dumping! This was in the New Orleans area. ♻️

A concerned community member called the hotline and signed an affidavit to report this illegal dumping site under oath, and, thanks to their testimony, we had the evidence we needed to hold the perpetrator responsible. They will now be ticketed! If you see someone littering or illegally dumping in your community, step up and be a leader against litter and call 855-LA-LITTER to report it!

Keep Abita Beautiful was the recipient of a Healthy Communities Grant from Keep Louisiana Beautiful in 2025. We have been able to expand recycling options in Abita Springs with the addition of five new recycling stations. We have added more Osprey Initiative net bags that help us recycle more efficiently. We have six large kiosks we are able to use for recycling at large events; professional signs on the golf cart and hand carts we use when we are collecting beads; and last, but not least, we added four additional dog waste stations! We are happy to report that the recycling stations and dog waste stations are being used daily and all of the other items have been used when needed.

Thank you, Keep Louisiana Beautiful, for supporting the work we do here in the Town of Abita Springs and surrounding areas.

It's always a good day for gumbo, and plenty of it was stirred up and gobbled down March 14 when Abita the Beautiful staged its “Not Your Mama’s Gumbo Cook-Off”
