Today marks 12 years since Danny paid the ultimate sacrifice, giving his life for our country. 23 Dec 2013
We are constantly reminded of the lasting impact he left on people, no matter how he was placed in their life’s path, and no matter the length of time.
He is very much alive in all that we do and we celebrate him any chance we get- this will never change!

Congratulations to our 2025 scholarship recipient, Abington High School graduate, Jada Flavin!

Jada was presented The Sgt Daniel Vasselian Memorial Scholarship by Danny’s Mother, Karen.
She is the daughter of a Veteran and will be attending UMass Dartmouth to pursue studies in Psychology.

AHS staff describes her as the following:

“Jada is a genuine, resilient young lady who will absolutely appreciate this award. She is a four year athlete, holds two jobs, and has thrived in her academic pursuits. She is diligent, hard-working and kind. Jada has excelled despite adversity, while maintaining honor academics and a very lively spirit.”

It is clear that she will be missed tremendously!

Every December 23rd, it seems impossible that another year has gone by without Danny. Somehow, here we are 11 years later.
Out of all the pain and heartache I have seen and felt after losing him, what has trumped that is our pride.
He said it himself; he loved what he was doing, he loved being a Marine and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
He put himself in harms way to do everything he could to protect his Marines and lived up to the Marine Corps values of honor, courage and commitment right up until his final day.
We think about him every day. We miss him every day. We are PROUD of him every single day.
On this 11th anniversary, please join us in toasting our Hero from wherever you may be, with whatever is in your glass🥂 6:00PM (EST)

Today marks 10 years since Danny’s sacrifice. It’s hard to wrap our heads around the fact that so much time has gone by without him. He was larger than life and had the best energy of anyone we’ve ever known!

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has been there for us through the years. All the support you have shown has helped us on this journey, and we know it doesn’t end here.

They walk among us everyday, they look like you and me. They go through life in after, blending in the crowds but they’ll always be built different than us.. survived more, endured more than we’ll ever understand. They continue to battle everyday wars that only their brothers and sisters can relate to. They deserve everything but expect nothing. They did their jobs they made it back home yet the accomplishment reminds them of those they loved that did not.
Most of us have known many, loved some, but appreciate all. Love, honor, and respect to all of those past, present, and future heroes that were built different. Your strength, sacrifice, resilience and survival will always be respected, admired and honored. We will never forget you.

We wish to express our deepest sympathy over the loss of our dear friend Andy “Hamma” Best. Hamma poured his heart and soul into helping others, and offered profound support to our family and foundation.
The motorcycle run was what it was year after year because of him and the countless hours and work he put into it, never asking anything in return. The last bike run was truly the most special. It was a quiet, peaceful and emotional ride. Many had tears along the way, and although unknown at the time, I now think it’s because it would be your last. I’m glad I got to share it with you.
Thank you, Hamma. You will be sorely missed but never forgotten. 🇺🇸
