This month for Child PRP we focused on summer safety and internet safety.
Joe Dugan of the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) came out and provided an educational presentation to Harford and Cecil Child PRP allowing the children to ask questions and gain a sense of confidence when engaging with people online. Mr. Joe educated the children on how to spot predators online along with who/where to report it too.
At the end of the presentation the children were encouraged to identify safety skills that they have learned during the presentation. Many shared about the grandmother rule that if you can't send the picture to your grandma then it probably is not appropriate to post on social media along with informing a trusted adult when made to feel uncomfortable online.
