Aurora Foundation

Aurora Foundation Aurora is a non-profit foundation supporting cultural and social projects in Iceland and Africa. It was formally established on 23rd of January in 2007.

The Aurora foundation was created by the philanthropist couple Ingibjörg Kristjánsdóttir and her husband Ólafur Ólafsson. The primary aim of the foundation is to enhance and strengthen cultural and humanitarian activities in Iceland and abroad. Emphasis is focused on supporting projects that can make a real difference, injecting hope and optimism into a community. Since its foundation the Aurora

Foundation has participated actively in providing support and development aid in close cooperation with governments, aid agencies and residents of communities in need. Aurora has also been a successful supporter of cultural activities in Iceland. Projects have been carefully selected and monitored as far as possible. The Foundation emphasises providing substantial support to each project, thereby strengthening the likelihood of a successful outcome. Aurora has as well initiated its own projects such as Aurora Design Fund and Kraumur Music Fund which have supported numerous designer and young mucicians in Icealnd. The Aurora Foundation was initially capitalised with ISK one billion, which was provided by the founders. The foundation's annual contributions derive from interest of the funding each year.

At Aurora Foundation, we believe in equipping individuals with practical skills that open doors to opportunity, creativity, and growth.
From 23rd March to 2nd April 2026, our two-week Canva Training at Aurora House brought together 23 entrepreneurs, students, and professionals.

Through a hands-on and interactive approach, participants learned Canva fundamentals, flyer design, and practical techniques for real-world use.

21 participants were certified, and six outstanding participants were awarded Canva Pro licenses to take their designs to the next level. More than a training, it was a space for creativity, collaboration, and empowerment.
