After two successful editions, Help the Young Organization is pleased to announce the official launching of the 3rd Edition of the Black Ink Poetry Competition.

Black Ink has grown into more than just a poetry competition. It is a platform created to give young Sierra Leoneans the space to express themselves, tell their stories, share their perspectives, explore important issues, and allow their voices to be heard through the power of poetry.

Over the past editions, we have witnessed young people step forward with courage, creativity, originality, and powerful words. We have seen emerging poets take the stage, share experiences, challenge perspectives, and remind us of the incredible talent that exists among young people in Sierra Leone.

Now, we begin another chapter.

The just-concluded Career Guidance Training brought together young people eager to strengthen their professional skills, build confidence, and better prepare themselves for opportunities in the world of work.

From practical sessions on professional resume writing and job applications to interview preparation and career development, participants engaged actively throughout the training, asked meaningful questions, shared experiences, and gained practical knowledge they can apply beyond the classroom.

We are proud of the commitment, enthusiasm, and energy each participant brought to the programme. These moments capture more than just photographs, they capture learning, connection, growth, and the beginning of new possibilities.

As part of the successful completion of the Career Guidance Training, participants were formally presented with certificates in recognition of their active participation, commitment to learning, and successful completion of the training programme.

The certification marks more than the conclusion of a training session; it represents the acquisition of practical knowledge, professional skills, and greater confidence to navigate today’s competitive career environment. Throughout the programme, participants engaged in sessions focused on professional resume writing, effective job application strategies, interview preparation, career development, and the practical skills required to present themselves confidently in the workplace.

The Career Guidance Training was organised by Help the Young (HeY) with support from Afriqia Solutions as part of our continued commitment to investing in young people and creating opportunities that strengthen their employability, professional development, and readiness for the world of work.
