First batch of peace ambassadors accompanied by their teacher coordinators from Moyamba district visited Peace museum in Freetown on Saturday,November 29,2025.
According to the Executive Director of Fambul Tok-Sierra Leone,John Caulker,it was recently observed that Wan Fambul peace ambassadors in the various districts need to pay visits to the Peace museum to learn what Sierra Leone went through during the country’s conflict adding that ‘never again’ the people in Sierra Leone will go into war.
He said the partnership with the Residual Court in Sierra Leone will continue so that children in various schools will know what happened during the war encouraging the peace ambassadors to always feel free to visit the museum or get in touch with details about residual court in Sierra Leone
One of the staff of the residual court in Sierra Leone,Patrick Fatorma,who worked in the outreach section of Special Court of Sierra Leone said he is happy for the very first time to see pupils from upcountry to visit the Peace museum.He took children through history of the conflict stating that no body will like to see the things that occurred during the conflict
Madam Mariama Tommy of Fambul Tok in her speech said Fambul Tok was formed after the war to promote peace and reconciliation adding that pupils have also gone through transitional justice education through support of the Africa Transitional Legacy Fund and many pupils have gained lots of knowledge now than before
Other staff members of the residual court talked in many things including taking the pupils round the museum to see and learn more
Another batch from Kailahun,Koinadugu and Pujehun districts are set to do similar visit to the museum before the end of the year
