🌍 Today we continue our EMPOWER+ journey!

Today, our partner Connectus M.IKE is hosting the second Online Pre-Departure Training, bringing together young participants and youth workers from our Sub-Saharan African partner countries as they prepare for their upcoming learning mobility in Greece.

Every step of this journey is helping to build stronger connections between Europe and Africa and laying the foundations for the future Rural Youth Parliaments.

🇧🇼 The EMPOWER+ Rural Youth Parliament has officially launched in Mogobane, Botswana!

A new chapter begins for youth participation in rural communities.

The official launch brought together community leaders, government representatives, civil society organisations and young people to celebrate an important milestone in the EMPOWER+ project, laying the institutional and community foundations needed for its effective implementation in Botswana and strengthening collaboration between young people, community leaders and public institutions.

🌍 Welcome to the Romania adventure!

On 6 July 2026, LAG Napoca Porolissum is hosting the EMPOWER+ Pre-departure Training, a first step towards connection, learning and youth action.

As the coordinator of this Erasmus+ project, LAG Napoca Porolissum is proud to bring together young people, rural communities and international partners in a shared journey of learning and cooperation.

This session will prepare participants for the upcoming Romanian mobility, offering an introduction to the local context, rural communities, the LAG Napoca Porolissum territory and the shared learning journey ahead.

Through EMPOWER+, young people from Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa will explore rural youth participation, democratic engagement and the Rural Youth Parliament model as tools for stronger community involvement.

We are excited to welcome participants into the EMPOWER+ experience and to begin this journey together! 💚

🌍 **EMPOWER+ at the European Projects Day in Madagascar! 🇲🇬**

The **EMPOWER+** project was proud to take part in the **European Projects Day** in Madagascar, joining an inspiring space dedicated to EU-funded initiatives that invest in young people, education and active citizenship.

Throughout the event, visitors had the opportunity to discover the EMPOWER+ mission and explore how the **Rural Youth Parliament** model can strengthen youth participation, leadership and civic engagement in rural communities.

✨ During the event we:

🤝 Connected with more than **65 participants**
💬 Encouraged dialogue on youth participation, rural development and active citizenship
🌱 Networked with youth organisations, institutions and other EU-funded initiatives, creating new opportunities for collaboration

Every conversation highlighted the importance of giving young people the opportunity to participate, share ideas and contribute to shaping the future of their communities.

A big thank you to everyone who visited our stand and shared this experience with us. The journey towards stronger youth participation continues!

🚀 EMPOWER+ Online Platform Launch | 25 June 2026

A new digital space for youth participation and international collaboration is about to go live!

Tomorrow, Tlokweng District Council, together with the project partners from Botswana, Nigeria, Madagascar, Mauritius, Italy, Greece, and Romania, will officially launch the EMPOWER+ Online Platform, powered by Cisco Webex.

The platform has been designed to connect rural youth, local authorities, and stakeholders across Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe, creating opportunities for dialogue, learning, and active participation.

🌍 Through this platform, EMPOWER+ aims to:

✅ Bridge urban-rural divides through accessible digital solutions
✅ Foster multilingual dialogue and cross-cultural exchange
✅ Strengthen youth leadership and co-creation processes
✅ Support civic simulations and policy debates
✅ Build secure and inclusive spaces for collaboration

This launch marks another important milestone towards empowering rural young people to become active agents of change in their communities.

📢 Great news from Botswana!

We are proud to see young people from Tlokweng preparing to take part in international capacity-building and exchange activities in Romania, Greece, Italy and Mauritius through the Empowerplus project.

These experiences will provide valuable opportunities to strengthen leadership, civic engagement, digital resilience and active participation in decision-making processes, while fostering meaningful connections between African and European youth 🌍✨

NEWS UPDATE: A group of Tlokweng youth are expected to participate in international capacity-building and exchange programmes in Romania, Greece, Italy, and Mauritius between August this year and November 2027. This was revealed by the Tlokweng District Council Chairperson Ontiretse Bogatsu at a full council meeting on Monday. They are part of the Empower + Youth Parliament Programme, an initiative supported through international partnerships aimed at strengthening youth participation in governance, civic engagement, digital resilience and leadership development. She said that land allocation in Tlokweng is still a big challenge due to unavailability of serviced land.

🚀 Empowerplus reached the European Parliament in Strasbourg!

In a place where young people’s ideas can get closer to decision-making, we were happy to disseminate the EMPOWER+ project and speak about the role of rural youth in transforming their communities. 🌍

The participants & youths were led by Iulia Fatu project manager from GAL Napoca Porolissum, the coordinating organisation and lead partner of the EMPOWER+ project.

Through this project, we are taking forward the Rural Youth Parliament model, together with partners from Europe and Africa, and supporting spaces where young people can learn, collaborate, propose ideas and engage with decision-makers. 🤝

For young people, EMPOWER+ means voice, courage, confidence and the chance to turn ideas into real action.

Într-un spațiu unde ideile tinerilor pot ajunge mai aproape de decizie, am avut bucuria să diseminăm proiectul EMPOWER+ și să vorbim despre rolul tinerilor din mediul rural în schimbarea comunităților lor. 🌍

La eveniment, participanții și tinerii au fost însoțiți de Iulia Fătu, manager de proiect din partea GAL Napoca Porolissum, organizația coordonatoare și liderul proiectului EMPOWER+.
