Europe can no longer afford to regard the Sea as a distant periphery. It has become both a frontline and a backbone of connectivity, where Europe’s economic security, democratic resilience, and geopolitical credibility converge.
The EU Strategic Approach to the Black Sea and the foreseen Hub, which Romania has offered to host in the port city of can be instrumental in moving from conceptual framework to effective implementation.
The Black Sea Roundtable 'Securing the Black Sea:
Translating Strategy into Action', convened last month in Constanta by the GlobalFocus Center with the support of its partners*, gathered senior policymakers, defence and foreign affairs officials, and representatives, academics, think-tankers and private-sector experts to discuss the transformation of the EU Black Sea Strategic Approach from a vision into a framework of action.
