As a mother of a Grade 2 learner, she is grateful for the access to books From CANVAS - Center for Art, New Ventures & Sustainable Development that help her daughter improve her reading and gain additional factual knowledge. The project also helps her support her child’s learning at home.

CORD and Isabela State University - Roxas Campus sealed their partnership through an MOU signing on September 29, 2026, at the ISU-R Campus. The partnership aims to strengthen both CORD’s Community-Led Development (CLD) Program and ISU-R’s Extension Program in the municipalities of Roxas, Ramon, and San Isidro, Isabela.

The event was attended by the CORD delegation, led by its Executive Director, Miss Krizza Ria Velasquez, and ISU-R officials, headed by Atty. Romano Cammayo, Campus Administrator, and Dr. Janet Cunanan, Extension Department Director.

Together, CORD and ISU-R strengthen collaboration between the academe and communities to advance sustainable, community-led development.

A Meaningful Six-Month Partnership for PAMANA!

On September 3, Central Luzon State University CLSU Auxiliary Services, the Barangay Council of Mangandingay, and CORD Inc. formalized their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under the β€œAdopt-a-Barangay” Program.

Through this six-month partnership, CORD's partner organization, Pagsanggiran Ti Mangandingay Assoc (PAMANA) will benefit from various initiatives designed to promote health, improve food security, and strengthen livelihood opportunities and skills among its members.

The planned initiatives include:

🌿 Medical Mission
🌿 Feeding Program
🌿 Training on Mushroom Production, Processing, and Marketing
🌿 Training on Organic Fertilizer Production
🌿 Distribution of Vegetable Seedlings
🌿 Ornamental Plant Production
🌿 Year-End Program

Beyond these activities, the partnership provides PAMANA with opportunities to enhance its members’ knowledge and skills, explore additional sources of income, and strengthen linkages with institutions and local leaders.

With CLSU’s technical expertise, the Barangay Council’s support, and CORD’s commitment to community-led development, this collaboration is a step toward building on PAMANA’s existing capacities and working toward sustainable community development.

Another Savings for Transformation (S4T)group is born in Isabela!

On September 14, a training on S4T Implementation was conducted with the Samahan ng Nagkakaisang Mamamayan para sa Kaunlaran ng Cabulay (SNMKC) in Cabulay, Santiago City, Isabela.

The training was facilitated by CORD S4T trainer, Alvin Jacob, with the support of the Isabela team.

S4T responds to the low financial resilience of community members by encouraging regular savings and collective action. After the training, 16 members decided to form the S4T group, a small but meaningful step toward building their financial resilience together.

From learning to taking action, another S4T journey begins!

CORD-FACILITATED ACCESS TO SEEDS AND SEEDLINGS SUPPORTS FOOD SECURITY IN VILLA MARCOS!

The CORD partner community in Villa Marcos, Ramon, Isabela, successfully accessed certified seedlings from the Barangay and Local Government, including talong, sili, and okra, through CORD’s facilitation. The group also received seeds from the Department of Agriculture, including pechay, kangkong, and okra.

These seeds and seedlings were provided as a response to the community’s food-related issues, supporting their backyard gardening efforts and improving access to nutritious food. A total of 63 group members have already benefited from the seeds and seedlings received.

CORD is very proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of the Pag-asa ng Sitio Bimmangon Association (PSBA) as the 2nd Runner-Up Regional Winner in the 2026 Regional Kabuhayan Awards – DOLE-Assisted Livelihood Project, Group Category.

This recognition is a great honor and a testament to the hard work, unity, perseverance, and collective efforts of the entire PSBA membership. PSBA is also the only organization from Isabela Province nominated in this category at the regional level.

This award is more than a recognitionβ€”it reflects what a community can achieve through collective action, community ownership, and determination to improve the lives of its members and now in other communities through the SPROUT program.

Nabili ito mula sa tinanggap na β‚±200,000 PDAG bilang dagdag pondo sa SLPA galing sa DSWD bilang pagkilala sa kanilang mahusay na pagpapatupad ng Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

Hindi lang basta sasakyan ang kolong-kolong na ito. Malaking tulong ito sa kanilang SLP Store, lalo na sa pagkuha at pagdadala ng mga paninda at iba pang pangangailangan ng kanilang tindahan.

Higit sa lahat, simbolo ito ng sipag, pagkakaisa, at pagsisikap ng samahan.

FROM MONGGO TO MEANINGFUL CHANGE!🌱

A simple idea, a shared effort, and a community-managed project. The Core Shelter Group in Purok 5, Marcos, Roxas, Isabela, started sprouted monggo production and marketing to address two concerns identified by the residents: limited nutritious food and limited sources of income.

With support from the Bahaginan Foundation, through its Executive Director Mrs. Ma. Corazon C. Calderon, 12 active women members are now working together in producing and marketing sprouted monggo.

In just 16 days, the group has produced and sold 16 kilograms amounting to β‚±2,512.00 of sprouted monggo, reaching around 60 households in the community.

More than the income and nutritious food it provides, the project is giving the women an opportunity to work together, learn, and take ownership of their own initiative. Small steps, shared by the community, can grow into something meaningful. 🌱
