Six pairs of brilliant young minds will stand strong as a force for their respective universities, taking on the challenge to claim the highly coveted Sonneratia Plaque—a symbol of outstanding knowledge in mangrove ecology and biology. 🌿

This is your final chance to join the 5th Palarong Bakawan: A Mangrove Quiz Bee (School Edition)! Registration officially closes today at 11:59 PM.

For the first time ever, Palarong Bakawan is going ONSITE at the Las Piñas–Parañaque Wetland Park, where you'll put your knowledge of mangroves and coastal ecosystems to the test while representing your school. 🌊

This whaleshark — called 𝘵𝘪𝘬𝘪-𝘵𝘪𝘬𝘪 in Panaon Island — is proof that ocean advocacy works! While residents of Panaon practiced responsible whaleshark watching, they also fought for the protection of the entire island and all sea creatures that live amongst them.

Now their island home is declared the Panaon Island Protected Seascape, signed into law in August 2025.
