CHR Gender Ombud 101! 👀

Ano nga ba ang ginagawa ng CHR Gender Ombud, at paano sila makatutulong sa atin? Sa episode na ito, mas kikilalanin natin ang kanilang role sa pagsusulong ng karapatan ng kababaihan at ng people with diverse SOGIESC, pati na rin ang mga redress mechanisms na maaari nating gamitin kapag kailangan natin ng suporta.

Pioneer FTM Statement on House Resolution No. 1369

Transgender communities remain among those most vulnerable to discrimination and violence. What begins as online hate, ridicule, and dehumanization does not always stay online. When trans people are repeatedly portrayed as threats, targets, or less deserving of dignity, these narratives can create an environment where real-world violence becomes easier to justify and where lives can be lost.

The filing of House Resolution No. 1369 is an important step toward confronting the violence faced by transgender people in the Philippines. We stand with our communities and our fellow organizations in calling for effective prevention strategies, urgent responses, and stronger mechanisms for justice and accountability.

But legislation alone cannot end this violence.

This is a moment for allies to stand with us. Speak up when you see transphobia online. Challenge narratives that dehumanize our communities. Listen to transgender people. Support efforts that protect our rights and dignity. And make it clear that violence against trans people will never be tolerated. We are one in this fight because every trans life lost is a failure of protection and we will not accept another.

A little recap of what the past two months have looked like for us 👀

Lots of meetings, conversations, learning, collaborations, and showing up for our community. From creating spaces where trans identities are affirmed, to pushing for more inclusive policies and systems, we’ve been busy doing the work. ✊

None of this happens alone, though. 🫶 Huge thank you to everyone who opened their spaces to us, sat with us in conversation, shared their experiences, collaborated with us, and trusted Pioneer FTM to be part of this work.

Every conversation brings us one step closer to a world where trans and gender-diverse people can live with dignity, safety, and equal rights. 🏳️‍⚧️🔥 More community work, more collaborations, more collective action in the months ahead. Tuloy-tuloy ang laban. 💙

Hello trans brothers!

Naghahanap ang isang kaibigan ng 18 years old and above na trans men na interested mag-contribute o co-produce ng research na may titulong “Decolonizing Love: Filipino Trans Men Narratives of Embodied Deviance.”

The project’s purpose is to explore the lived romantic experiences of Filipino trans men and to illuminate how their love is created, nurtured, and evolved. The primary aim is to elucidate how Filipino trans men find, build, and sustain romantic relationships. Understanding these intimate subjectivities will give us clarity on how love can be a form of protest; furthermore, through the integration of conversations and art workshops, we will co-create a culturally grounded understanding of trans love.

Ang research na ito ay pinangungunahan ng Nord University at ni Ms. Patricia Aida Linao, isang PhD student sa nasabing unibersidad.

Ano ang mga aktibidad kung ikaw ay mag-participate?

1. Magkakaroon ng initial meeting with co-producers (mga kasamang participants) para magkakila-kilala, kasama si Ms. Linao (ang researcher).
2. Ang proseso ay pinagsamang semi-structured na interview at art workshop. Ang workshop ay mangyayari sa loob ng kalahating araw, samantalang ang mga interview ay gaganapin bago o matapos ang workshop. Ang mga ito ay gaganapin sa loob ng Metro Manila.
3. Ang mga interview ay ire-record sa isang device na hindi kailangang konektado sa internet habang isinasagawa ang mga ito. Samantala, ang workshop naman ay maaaring i-video-record, lalo na kapag ang mga participants ay tatanungin kung ano ang ibig sabihin ng kanilang artwork o mga drawing.

Ito ay boluntaryo at kailangang may consent mo. Kapag nag-participate, may karapatan kang:

1. Maka-access sa personal data mo;
2. Maaari mo rin hilingin na burahin ang iyong datos o mag withdraw sa iyong participation;
3. Puwedeng itama kung mayroong mali sa datos na nakolekta mula sa iyo;
4. Maaari kang makatanggap ng kopya ng iyong datos; at
5. Maaaring mag-file ng reklamo sa Data Protection Officer or The Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research patungkol sa pagproseso ng iyong datos kung mayroong problema sa proseso o sa proseso ng data collection.

🤝 To a meaningful engagement collectively aiming for an accessible and people-centered implementation of the Change of First Name (CFN) process pursuant to RA No. 9048, as amended.

Today, Pioneer FTM met with the Philippine Statistics Authority's Gender and Development Unit, Legal Service, and Civil Registration Service to discuss our evidence-based proposed improvements to the administrative implementation of CFN at the frontline level. The proposal seeks to make the administrative remedy more accessible to ALL who need it, regardless of differences in circumstances, so long as their case falls under any of the three current statutory grounds.

Meaningful reforms happen through dialogue, collaboration, and a shared commitment to improving systems. We're grateful to the PSA representatives for their time and effort, for the productive discussions, and for the opportunity to contribute our insights to their efforts to strengthen civil registration systems. ✨

This meeting is another step forward in our ongoing work to advance inclusive government policies, programs, and services, and we hope it marks the beginning of a deeper collaboration with the PSA and other government institutions. Here's to building more allies and creating systems that work better for everyone.🩵🩷🤍

12 years of pioneering visibility. 3 years of delivering institutional breakthroughs. One 15-year story of change.

Today, we celebrate 15 years of our journey, and we’re kicking it off by launching our official website! Learn more about our work, check our community resources, and find ways to get involved by visiting pioneerftm.ph 💙

We began with a simple but powerful purpose: to make transgender men, transmasculine, and gender-diverse people visible in the Philippines and to build a community where we could be seen and heard and belong. Twelve of our fifteen years built that foundation. Over the past three years, we embraced the challenge of growing beyond our beginnings. We invested in strengthening our organization, deepening our partnerships, and expanding our reach to advance our mission and create meaningful impacts.

These milestones did not replace our beginnings–they were built upon them.

To everyone who has been part of our story–our community members, founders, volunteers, current and former staff, board members, networks, partners, allies, and donors–thank you for believing that our work could continue to grow and evolve.

We remain committed to bringing the same rigor, dedication, and solidarity to improving the lives of TGDP communities for as long as we’re needed. And perhaps that’s our biggest aspiration: that one day, organizations like ours no longer have to fight for basic rights, recognition, and dignity because equality has become the norm.

Until that day comes, we’ll keep showing up.

📣🏳️‍⚧️ Pride does not end when June does. Neither does our call for Legal Gender Recognition.

Hear the LGR Coalition’s Solidarity Speech delivered on June 27, 2026 at the Melchor Stage of Pride PH, where members of the coalition came together to affirm a simple truth: transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse Filipinos deserve to be recognized by the law as who they are.

In this solidarity speech, Venus Ancheta-Lane of the Society of Trans Women of the Philippines (STRAP), Six Bernardo of Transmasculine Philippines (TmPH), and Rocky Rinabor of Pioneer Filipino Trans Men Movement (PFTM) speak on why Legal Gender Recognition remains urgent, and why the fight for recognition, dignity, and equality does not stop after Pride Month.

Because Legal Gender Recognition is not just about documents. It is about making everyday life safer for transgender and gender-diverse Filipinos: in schools, workplaces, hospitals, airports, and every space where a name or ID can become a source of humiliation, exclusion, or violence. It is about security, dignity, and the right to move through the world without fear.

Tapos man ang Pride Month, hindi natatapos ang ating panawagan. Hangga’t wala pang Legal Gender Recognition, tuloy ang laban.

Legal Gender Recognition! Push na yan, now na! 🏳️‍⚧️✊
