Expanding Financial Education Access in the Zamboanga Peninsula!

: Schools in Isabela City and Zamboanga City are gaining greater access to financial education as Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) and BPI Foundation (BPIF) bring new learning resources through BPIF’s FinEd Unboxed School Caravan on September 3.

The caravan marked the launch of new episodes of Estudyantipid, a video lesson series produced by KCFI and BPIF that helps high school learners build practical money management skills, make informed financial decisions, and raise awareness of fraud and scams in digital spaces. It also featured financial literacy sessions for attending teachers, integrating Estudyantipid, and the turnover of five Knowledge Channel TV (KCTV) packages to beneficiary schools.

“The turnover of the Knowledge Channel TV does not merely provide access to our curriculum-aligned video lessons. In fact, it is an investment in the future for every learner who will benefit from these lessons, all developed to make learning more engaging and fun, more interactive and constructive, and more effective and relevant,” said KCFI Vice President Edric Calma.

Each KCTV package for High School features a 55-inch Smart TV and a Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KCPML) loaded with thousands of curriculum-aligned video lessons and other educational resources that can be accessed offline, including the new Estudyantipid episodes.

“At BPI, we believe that financial education is a powerful tool for empowerment. By helping young Filipinos develop practical money skills early, we can help build a generation that is more responsible, resilient, and prepared for the future,“ said BPIF Director and Trustee Mary Catherine Elizabeth Santamaria.

“We value our continuing partnership with BPI Foundation in strengthening financial literacy among young Filipino learners. In this age of digital banking and e-commerce, learning how to protect ourselves from scams and fraud is just as important as learning how to save and manage money wisely. These are essential life skills that we must equip every Filipino child with from an early age," said KCFI President and Co-Founder Rina Lopez.

The event marked the first leg of the school caravan, with succeeding stops scheduled in Iloilo, Guimaras, Cagayan de Oro, and Rizal.

Heading the school caravan in Isabela City and Zamboanga City were Edric Calma (Vice President, KCFI) and Mary Catherine Elizabeth Santamaria (Director and Trustee, BPIF). Also in attendance were Hon. In celebration of National Teachers' Month (NTM), teachers nationwide tuned in to our first NTM Knowledge Channel LearnCon, Math That Clicks: Building Foundational Numeracy through Multimedia-Enhanced Teaching Approaches, where they explored practical ways to use curriculum-aligned multimedia resources like MathDali to make Math lessons more engaging, interactive, and relatable for learners.

A new science video lesson for a more sustainable and energy-literate generation.

: On September 1, the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) launched Enna You Know, a new curriculum-aligned science video lesson series, at San Guillermo Integrated School (led by School Principal II Dr. Marivic Velgado) in the Municipality of Morong, Rizal. Enna You Know! was developed as a component of Project Shaping Energy (PSE), a collaborative initiative of Schneider Electric Foundation, Schneider Electric Philippines, KCFI, makesense Asia, and the Department of Education DepEd Rizal Province to strengthen energy literacy and climate action among learners and educators.

"Ang investment po sa education katulad ng mga ginawa nating mga video lessons na ito, ay makabuluhan at sustainable. Taun-taon, ilang mga bata ang matututo ng science nang maayos at magmamahal sa ating kalikasan dahil sa mga videos na ito," said Edric Calma, KCFI Vice President.

“Napapanahon ang Enna You Know! dahil humaharap ang mundo sa malalaking hamon: wastong paggamit ng enerhiya, pangangalaga sa kalikasan, at climate change. Ngunit, ang pagbabago ay maaaring magsimula sa maliliit na bagay. At ang makapangyarihang simula ay ang edukasyon,” said Hon. Sidney Soriano, Municipal Mayor, Municipality of Morong.

The four-episode series on environmental conservation follows a high school student and her environmental scientist brother as they explore everyday ecological issues, understand their impact on communities, and discover actionable ways to care for the environment.

"It is our hope that these videos will inspire you to become future leaders, engineers, and environmentalists," said Atty. Norman “JJ” Roland Ocana III, Schneider Electric Philippines Head of Government Affairs and Foundation, Delegate for Philippines.

"We are confident that these video lessons will not just help our teachers but also help our learners develop the necessary skills to navigate modern technologies, taking care of our environment, and work on adaptation to climate change," said Dr. Doris Estalilla, CESO VI, SDO Rizal Schools Division Superintendent (SDS).

Through Enna You Know, learners are introduced to concepts on sustainability, energy, and environmental responsibility. To support the use of the lessons in schools, teachers from schools in Rizal also received flash drives containing the Enna You Know episodes as learning resources for their students.

“We empower young people to become informed decision-makers, responsible citizens, at maging future leaders,” said Hyrah Jaechelle Santos, Makesense Asia Department Head for Workforce Development.

“Renewable energy education is close to my heart. Through ‘Enna You Know,’ we hope to inspire young Filipinos to understand energy, embrace sustainability, and take regenerative action for the future,” said Rina Lopez, KCFI President and Co-Founder.

Enna You Know! was officially launched by Edric Calma (Vice President, KCFI), Atty. Norman "JJ" Roland Ocana III (Head of Government Affairs and Foundation, Schneider Electric Philippines), Hyrah Jaechelle Santos (Department Head for Workforce Development, Makesense Asia), and Dr. Doris Estailla, CESO VI (SDS, SDO Rizal). Also in attendance at the launch were Hon. Sidney Soriano (Municipal Mayor, Municipality of Morong), Dr. Dahlia Certeza (Public Schools District Supervisor, SDO Rizal - Morong Sub-Office), Dr. Nicanor Macarunlay (Public Schools District Supervisor, SDO Rizal - Morong Sub-Office), and Dr. Marivic Delgado (School Principal II, San Guillermo Integrated School).

Enna You Know! airs on DepEd TV powered by Knowledge Channel every Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 4:00 PM, with replays at 10:40 PM.
