(2)

We are a lean organization composed of staff coming from diverse backgrounds with different expertise. We have lawyers, social workers, community organizers and other professionals. The age of our staff is as varied as our background: we employ young staff as well as senior citizens. We have staff from the LGBT community; we have a staff who is a member of an indigenous community; we have a staff

with a disability; and we have single moms as well. Our lawyers are trained and experienced alternative lawyers who are adept in both traditional practice and meta legal tactics in order to achieve the foundation's goals. Our training methodologies are appreciated and recognized by duty-bearers from both the local government units and the national government agencies to be effective and efficient. Our beneficiaries had been showcased by different groups and organizations including media
organizations. Our foundation is the only organization that works for the reintegration of ex-detainees into their families and their communities. Our staff are experts, and are in demand resource persons in the fields of Juvenile Justice, Restorative Justice, Case Management, Reintegration, Community Organizing, Criminal Justice Reform and Criminal Law.

66 persons deprived of liberty complete journey as new paralegal aides in Pasig City

From May 14-16 and May 21-22, 2026, we facilitated a paralegal aide training for sixty (60) persons deprived of liberty from the male dormitory and six (6) persons deprived of liberty from the female dormitory.

Throughout the sessions, persons deprived of liberty learned the fundamentals of law, the rights of the accused, criminal law basics, the flow of trial, modes of release, plea bargaining in drug cases, and even practical skills such as writing simple letters and affidavits and speaking publicly.

We were reminded that empowering persons deprived of liberty with legal knowledge does not only help them understand their own cases, but it also equips them to assist fellow persons deprived of liberty inside the facilities.

We extend our gratitude to JSUPT Lloyd Gonzaga, JCINSP Girlie Haber, and the whole personnel of the Pasig City Jail Male and Female Dormitories for their unwavering support and commitment to jail decongestion and the protection of the rights of persons deprived of liberty.

For three meaningful days, we facilitated the learning of more than one hundred eighty (180) Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Officers from Region V in a capacity-building training focused on strengthening knowledge and practices on Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Good Conduct Time Allowance, and Reintegration towards achieving jail decongestion in their respective facilities.

We concluded the training with a simple Mental Health webinar, a reminder that while our officers continue to serve with dedication and resilience every day, their well-being also matters.

We thank our partners, Ateneo de Naga University - Ignatian Legal Apostolate Office, and the whole BJMP Regional Office of Region V, especially to their Regional Director JCSUPT Elena Rocamorra; Assistant Regional Director for Administration, JSSUPT RAMIL S VESTRA; Asst.. Regional Director for Operations, JSSUPT PIO C ROSERO; Regional Chief of the Directorial Staff, JSUPT RAMMEL L BONAVENTE; Chief Regional Legal/Paralegal Officer, JCINSP (Atty.) REX B SIANO; Acting Chief for Welfare and Development Division, JINSP ANITA T ANDUEZA; and, the wardens of the respective BJMP of Region V jails for their invaluable and unwavering support that without these, the event would not be possible.

Together, we continue working towards a more humane, responsive, and restorative justice system for persons deprived of liberty in the Philippines.

Pasok mga Millennials in 3… 2… 1…
