As the United Nations begins the selection process for the next Secretary-General 🌍, the world turns its gaze towards the goal of finding a leader who will be defined by strength, vision, and an unwavering commitment to service for the global community, someone ready to take on one of the most demanding roles on the global stage. Across different spheres of leadership, new voices are rising 🌱

This marks the beginning of a new era, shaped by fresh beginnings and the promise of a legacy yet to be written 📖. The path ahead will be forged through challenges and triumphs that will impact generations to come.

As the journey for a transformative global leader unfolds, one can’t help but wonder: Is DBMUN also on the brink of discovering new paths with its next Secretariat? 👀

Some moments don’t ask to be chased—they simply arrive, 𝔀𝓪𝓻𝓶 and 𝓰𝓸𝓵𝓭𝓮𝓷, when everything falls into place.

This year, our delegation stepped into the 𝗙𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 not with the goal of winning, but with the intention to do its best to listen, to collaborate, and to lead with purpose and strategy.

Fulfilling the conference’s theme 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝘿𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙪𝙚: 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙮 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝘿𝙞𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙮—our delegates composed something golden through focused discourse, mutual respect, and quiet confidence: a harmony that resonated across every committee.

And somehow, for the second year in a row, that harmony was recognized as for us to receive the 𝑩𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑫𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅.

We celebrate each delegate who participated and whose excellence shaped this achievement. Your dedication, preparation, and passion are what made this golden moment possible.

But perhaps the most fitting note in this composition is this: five out of nine of our awardees earned their first-ever MUN award in this conference, including the 𝑩𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑫𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅 and the 𝑩𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑷𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒓 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅.

It is a golden hour for our delegation, indeed. 🌅Not because it was expected, nor because it was pursued—but because, in that moment, everyone simply let their music resound.

We, once again, dedicate this milestone to the Educative Pastoral Community that has always been supportive of us: our administrators, trainers, teachers, parents, and peers. We give special appreciation to the teachers who accompanied and guided us during the conference: Mr. Renzo Borleo, Mrs. Monica Cruz, and Ms. Andrea Secapero.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿. This journey may be long, but we must press on and push forward.

Article III, Section 4 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution guarantees the freedom of speech, expression, and the right of the people to peaceably assemble and petition the government. This means that citizens have the constitutional right to peacefully protest, express their opinions, and defend their beliefs. Such rights are fundamental to democratic participation and allow the public to hold the government accountable with responsible civic action.

For the tens of thousands who flooded Luneta and marched along EDSA last September 21, we are grateful for how you took the lead in voicing out the hurt and the anger felt by the hearts of the Filipino people.

𝗗𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝗰𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 is one with the Filipinos who supported the protests through various means, upholding our constitutional rights of freedom of speech and peaceful assembly. The participation of our country’s people in the assemblies ensures that we continue to live in a democratic society that aligns with our nation’s best interests. It shows that we, civilians, are conscious of the injustices we face and are responsible for guiding our country and upholding what is right and just. These aims are all in alignment with the United Nations Charter founded on the pillars of peace and security, human rights, strong and just institutions, and sustainable development and flourishing.

For those who were not able to join the protests physically but were there in spirit, let us persistently pray, be vigilant, and be proactive in demanding accountability and good governance for our country. We can each contribute to making sure that the pressure stays consistent, that the public stays informed and involved, and that the algorithms are in favor of the truth.

For our fellow young people, here are some ways on how we can do so, simply yet powerfully.

Sa isang tahimik na bayan sa isla ng Buglas, nagtagpo ang tatlong binatang lalaki sa harap ng tindahan. Baon ang tawanan, alak, at isang kakatuwang kuwentong ibabahagi nila para maibsan ang nararamdamang pighati ng kanilang kasama. Ito ang kuwento ni Epefania, isang mahiwagang babae na muntikan nang mawasak ang mundo nang dahil sa pag-ibig. Sa gitna ng inuman, masasaksihan at makikilala nila kung gaano kahiwaga si Epefania.
