As to date, here is our partial contribution to Wikipedia projects since we started using Outreach Dashboard in 2024.

Partial because not all edits were recorded in the platform. NOt all editors registered in our events. Not all were counted. This data could have been more.

Looking at the numbers, we are humbked by the community support form across the Philippines extended to SKAP.

We only just begun, but you are always there to show up. Thank you SKAP community and the WikiClubs arising from major cities in the Philippines. Your efforts are all appreciated.

Watch out for more programs in the coming months. We will open more courses and more programs for the Philippines and cross-collaborate with other communities in the ESEAP region.

SKAP@3.

The future is here, but are we ready for it? 🤖⚖️

An insightful day at our AI Ethics Workshop, where we didn't just talk about what technology can do, but what it should do. From exploring algorithmic bias to the importance of transparency, our speakers and participants dived deep into the responsibilities of the digital age.

Made a quick Wiki Literacy and Cebuano edit a-thon with Pagadian med students as part of our road trip from launching WikiClub Iligan. We are now at Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay to also do another Introduction to Wikipedia session.

Last stop is Zamboanga City to follow up partnerships and meet with fellow Wikimedians in WikiClub Zamboanga before finally heading back to Cebu.

Daghang salamat, Mindanao.

We are thrilled to celebrate the successful launch of WikiClub Iligan, a milestone event dedicated to empowering the local community through open knowledge and digital literacy. The day was filled with inspiration as our esteemed speakers shared their expertise on the importance of collaborative information, while our enthusiastic participants engaged in hands-on sessions that brought the world of Wikipedia to life. From deep dives into local history to mastering the art of digital citations, the energy in the room was a testament to Iligan’s vibrant intellectual spirit.

The highlights of the day are captured in these moments—the insightful discussions led by our guest speakers, the focused energy of our participants during the workshops, and the collective smiles in our group photos that signify the birth of a new community. This launch is just the beginning of our journey to bridge the gap in local content and ensure that Iligan’s stories are told and preserved for the world to see. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us in making this vision a reality; we can't wait to see the incredible contributions this club will bring to the global knowledge commons!

Last month, we are proud to stage 4 Wikiwomen events across 4 areas. Most of the attendees were new editors. SKAP Baguio helped upload Panagbenga women content, Sual translated women articles in Tagalog, Pangasinanan and Ilokano Wikipedia, Cebu and Davao edited women content in Waray and Cebuano Wikipedia. These are the data we gathered from our editing sessions and we thank our partners for collaborating with us and we are committed to reach more communities in the Philippines.

We are also thrilled to have launched Wikiclub Davao and Wikiwomen Davao last March 25, did their first WikiNights on the evening. It was a full-packed schedule, but the experience Wikiclub Davao showed us was eye-opening.

We learned about the 11 Tribes of Davao that coexist in harmony with the rest of the population, that Davao City highly recognizes their rich culture, heritage contribution and influence and we learned that Davao City is a melting pot of culture just like Sinagpore and Penang in Malaysia.

In April, we will be launching WikiClub Iligan and explore more ares where we can do outreach and imprint Wikipedia in areas not yet reached. We intend to make Wikipedia@25 a meaningful growth in terms of Philippine content and community growth.

So thank you for your continued support. We are always grateful.

To more projects!

Congratulations WikiCLub Davao, UIC and all the pioneer and future members.

Congratulations WikiCLub Davao, UIC and all the pioneer and future members.

Wikipedia has banned the use of AI-generated text for writing or rewriting articles on its English platform, citing concerns over accuracy and reliability.

The new policy restricts editors from using large language models to create content, as such outputs may introduce errors or unsupported claims.

Limited use is still allowed, including grammar refinement and translation, but editors must verify and approve all AI-assisted changes before publishing.

Wikipedia said AI tools can alter meaning or include information not backed by sources, raising risks for a platform built on verifiable content standards.
