We, the organizers of the 21st Breaking Away Mountain Bike Challenge – Circuit Race, which was successfully held on February 21, 2026 in Laoag City as part of the Pamulinawen Festival, extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this event possible.

We sincerely thank the Honorable Mayor, James Bryan Alcid, the City Government of Laoag, and all city officials and personnel including the medical responders for their full support and commitment to the success of this activity. Our appreciation also goes to all our sponsors—private partners, local businesses, and individual supporters—whose generosity and trust greatly contributed to the realization of this event.

To all the participants, teams, and their families, thank you for your enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and unwavering support. Your presence and energy truly brought life and excitement to the race.

REGISTRATION DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Start: 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, on-site/walk-in
• Cut-off time for the registration is at 9:00 AM sharp
• Submit fully accomplished or signed registration form
• Payment of registration fee, P150.00
• Present proof of identity and age (school ID, National ID and other valid ID’s
• Dual registration is allowed, provided the rider is qualified for the category he is participating in and registration fee is paid.

RACE GUIDELINES
• 10 riders will compete for each qualifying heat. The top 4 finisher will qualify for the next stage.
• In a scenario with less than ten riders, the following will be adopted: 8-9 riders – top 3 qualifies; 6-7 riders – top 2 qualifies, 5 or less – 1 will qualify.
• The same format will be adopted for the next qualifying stages and final stage.
• The number of heats per category will be determined by its number of participants.
• Riders per heat will be determined through DRAWING OF LOTS.

DURATION OR DISTANCE
QUALIFYING ROUNDS:
• Under 16, Under 23 and 35UP
- Must take 2 full rounds of the race course.
• Open category
- Must take 3 full rounds of the race course.

FINALS
• Under 16, Under 23 and 35UP
- Must take 3 full rounds of the race course.
• Open category
- Must take 5 full rounds of the race course.

DISQUALIFICATIONS
• Overage (for U16 and U23)
• Misrepresentation
• Submitting fake documents
• Cutting or ignoring the course/track
• Switching of riders
• Unsportsmanlike behavior

OTHER IMPORTANT REMINDERS
• NO HELMET, NO RACE
• Race numbers must be secured and properly displayed on the bike
