Solar Community Meetup 2025: Empowering Local Energy Champions

Last August 20, the Clean Energy Advocates Association of the Philippines (CEAAPI), with the leadership of New Energy Nexus (NEX) Philippines, successfully hosted the **Solar Community Meetup 2025 at Cebu Parklane International Hotel.

With solar energy being one of the most accessible renewable sources in the Philippines, the event highlighted how local solar installers and small-scale players** are driving national and global RE integration goals. As solar technology becomes more affordable, these grassroots innovators are stepping up as solution providers—contributing meaningfully to the country’s goal of 50% renewable energy in total installed capacity by 2030.

This gathering marks a powerful step toward building a collaborative solar ecosystem, connecting businesses, government agencies, and advocacy groups to shape a brighter, cleaner future.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Future Solar Energy for their generous support of CEAAPI’s mission to advance clean energy education and workforce development.

Their donation of a 3KW GoodWe Hybrid Inverter and a 100AH GoodWe Battery will serve as a vital training setup for future PV installers—developed in collaboration with TESDA VII. 📣 Planning in Motion for SCM 2025

New Energy Nexus Philippines, in collaboration with the Clean Energy Advocates Association, Inc. (CEAAPI), has officially commenced preparations for the Solar Community Meetup 2025. The final planning session was held on July 28 with CEAAPI President Engr. Augusto “Jay-Ar” Reynes, officers from CEAAPI, and Sheryll Estela of New Energy Nexus Philippines.

The SCM 2025 event is scheduled for August 20 at Parklane Hotel, Cebu, bringing together solar industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and advocates to foster regional collaboration and accelerate the adoption of clean energy.

🌞 Powering up innovation, building future careers!

CEAAPI Vice-President Edgar Escalante met with TESDA Regional Training Center VII’s Center Administrator, Engr. Wilkie Reroma, to discuss the proposed EcoEnergy Discovery Zone at Innovation Center VII.

The initiative includes a 50–60KW solar power system and cellular charging stations to enhance energy access and sustainability. ⚡📱🌱

But that’s not all—the plan also features an incubation program for aspiring PV systems installers, addressing the growing demand for green energy jobs and empowering local talent. 👷‍♂️🔧

It was a valuable opportunity to explore innovative solar technologies and forge new partnerships for sustainable development. Emmanuel Tantoy, GoodWe Country Director, expressed strong support for the upcoming CEAAPI Training Center at TESDA Innovation Center VII, pledging a mock-up and technical assistance. 🤝

Todd Zhou, Sales Engineer for Southeast Asia PV Building Material Business Unit, also welcomed future collaboration and cooperation with CEAAPI.

📸 A productive dialogue with Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival and the Clean Energy Advocates and Practitioners of the Philippines, Inc. (CEAPPI), led by President Augusto “Jay-r” Reynes Jr., paved the way for clean energy initiatives in the city. 🌞🚏

It was agreed to set-up solar-powered charging stations in public waiting sheds—with pilot sites at CTU and CNU—uniting sustainability and public safety through integrated CCTV connections to Cebu City's command center. The next step: forging academic and professional partnerships to turn this vision into reality. 💡🤝

The officers and board of directors of CEAAPI actively participated in the Solar & Storage Show Live 2025 held last May 19–20 in SMX Convention Center, Manila. The event showcased breakthroughs in photovoltaic systems, energy storage technologies, and smart grid integration—providing opportunities to evaluate emerging solutions and strengthen strategic collaborations within the clean energy ecosystem.
