He may not have it all, but he gives selflessly from the little he has. For almost four years, the organization has been running smoothly and effectively without external support or contributions.

Some indigent students in Ekiti State have benefited from HATBI’s yearly Back-to-School Programme aimed at easing the burden of school expenses on parents.

The programme was held at our office in Ado-Ekiti. It began with an address by our Executive Director, Mr. Suleiman Olakunle, to parents on the importance of education. He also urged them to pay attention to areas where their children excel, especially their special skills and talents, which is the main focus of the organization.

He added that both talent and education go hand in hand, and that one is not more important than the other.

Items distributed to the children included school bags, exercise books, pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and transport fare for each beneficiaries.

In 2024, the organization conducted a talent hunt at Ayo Daramola High School, Ijan-Ekiti. Two students were discovered: a boy with welding skills and a girl with hairdressing skills.

At the time, the girl was in SS2 and had already completed her training with her boss. HATBI promised to set her up with a business after she completed her secondary school education. The goal was for the skill to support her university education and help her grow her talent.

Today, by the grace of God and with the support of our Executive Director, Mr. Suleman Olakunle, HATBI has fulfilled that promise. The girl has been empowered with the essential tools to start her hairdressing business. The equipment provided includes a hairdryer, hair straightener, hot comb, and a hair washing basin.

Harnessing Talent Behind the Wall Initiative (HATBI) End of Year Outreach Report

The Harnessing Talent Behind the Wall Initiative (HATBI) successfully organized an End of Year Outreach program on December 22, 2025, at its headquarters in Ado Ekiti. The event aimed to provide support and bring joy to vulnerable families in the community.

Each family presents at the event received a package containing food items,cash gift and other essential material. The event provided an opportunity for the organization to support a worthy cause.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the support received from HATBI. One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Adeyinka, stated, "I am so grateful for the support received from HATBI. The food items and clothing will go a long way in supporting my family during this festive season." Another beneficiary, Mr. Ojo, said, "I was touched by the kindness and generosity of the HATBI team and donors. This event has restored my hope in humanity."

The HATBI End of Year Outreach program was a huge success, thanks to the support of the Executive Director of the organization, Mr Suleman Olakunle and the volunteers. The event demonstrated the power of kindness, compassion, and community spirit.

HATBI remains committed to supporting vulnerable families and individuals in the community, and we look forward to future events and initiatives.

Report on the Visit of Harnessing Talent Behind the Walls Initiative (HATBI) to Community Primary School, Ifisin Ekiti, in Commemoration of 2025 Children's Day

On Children's Day 2025, the Harnessing Talent Behind the Walls Initiative (HATBI) team, led by Ifedayo Fasiku, visited Community Primary School, Ifisin Ekiti. Team members Funmi Falae and Hussein Jimoh were also in attendance.

The event began with a talk by Funmi Falae, who encouraged the children to work towards developing their lives and becoming better leaders through education and hard work. Ifedayo Fasiku then took the stage, introducing the organization's objective of nurturing and supporting talents. She emphasized that education and talent go hand-in-hand and that every child has the potential to discover their talents, regardless of age.

In attendance were the school's teachers and representatives from the Parents Teachers Association (PTA), including the school headmaster and PTA chairman. They commended the program and appreciated HATBI's gesture.

The students were overjoyed and thanked the organization for remembering them and putting smiles on their faces. The event also featured spelling competitions, social games, and the distribution of writing materials to enhance their learning.
