AND JUST LIKE THAT, PAGLAWIG 2026 COMES TO A CLOSE.

JJC University of Cebu is grateful to have been part of this year’s PAGLAWIG at the UC-METC Campus.

With the theme “Magkasama sa Bawat Hakbang,” the event allowed us to connect with students, introduce JJC UC, share our programs and advocacies, and engage with individuals who share an interest in leadership, service, and meaningful involvement.

To everyone who stopped by our booth, spent time with us, and took an interest in JJC UC, thank you. Every conversation, interaction, and connection made our participation all the more meaningful.

To our dedicated officers and members, thank you for showing up and giving your time and effort throughout the event.

And as a meaningful highlight of our participation, the JJC UC Booth was awarded as the MOST ECO-FRIENDLY BOOTH! 🌱♻️ This recognition reflects not only the creativity behind our booth, but also our commitment to promoting sustainability and responsible practices in the way we engage with our community.

JJC University of Cebu at SPARK Leaders’ Summit Year 3

For three meaningful days, July 29–31, 2026, the core officers of Junior Jaycees – University of Cebu proudly participated in the SPARK Leaders’ Summit Year 3 held at the UC Jones Auditorium.

Organized by the Student Affairs Office (SAO) – Student Core Group, the summit continues its mission of equipping, empowering, and inspiring student leaders from recognized student organizations across the University of Cebu. Now on its third year, SPARK serves as a platform for developing leadership, strengthening collaboration, and fostering a deeper commitment to service.

Our participation reflects JJC UC’s dedication to continuous learning, purposeful leadership, and creating meaningful impact within the university and the community.

The Junior Jaycees – University of Cebu proudly took part in Treebyouth for Kalikupan, an initiative to support the 256K Tree Growing Program of Mayor Nestor D. Archival in which is a citywide mangrove planting initiative that united Cebu City’s youth in protecting and restoring our coastal ecosystems.

Today, we planted more than mangroves—we strengthened our commitment to environmental stewardship, volunteerism, and active citizenship. Every seedling represents hope for a greener, more sustainable future and reflects the power of young people creating meaningful change through collective action.

Cultural Tour and Presidential & Cultural Night

The final day of the 50th National Convention was a celebration of heritage, leadership, and new beginnings.

Day 3 of the 50th National Convention took us on a meaningful journey through Cebu’s remarkable and historical places, allowing us to witness not only the beauty of the Queen City of the South, but also the stories and legacy preserved within its landmarks. We were truly in awe of the sights, the history, and the cultural richness that make Cebu a place of pride and heritage.

As the convention drew to a close, the evening's Presidential and Cultural Night marked a significant milestone in the history of the Junior Jaycees movement. It was a moment of gratitude, recognition, and seamless transition as one chapter of leadership concluded and another began.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to National President Jacob D. Villas. Thank you for the legacy you leave behind and for paving the way for future generations of Junior Jaycees.

At the same time, we proudly congratulate and warmly welcome National President Danna P. Cortes on your induction as the new National President. As you begin this new chapter of leadership, we are confident that your passion, integrity, and commitment will continue to elevate the Junior Jaycees movement.

Junior Jaycees University of Cebu stands united in support of your leadership and looks forward to working alongside the new National Board for another meaningful and impactful term.

The second day of the 50th National Convention was a testament to the heart of the Junior Jaycees movement—where service, leadership, and excellence came together in one meaningful journey.

The day commenced with an Outreach Program, reminding every delegate that leadership begins with serving communities. This was followed by the Miting de Avance, where aspiring national leaders shared their vision for the future of the Junior Jaycees movement. Delegates also participated in an enriching Leadership Session, gaining valuable insights to become more effective and impactful leaders. The day continued with the 4th National Board Meeting, where important organizational matters were discussed in pursuit of strengthening the future of the organization.

The evening culminated with the prestigious Phoenix Awards, honoring outstanding Junior Jaycees whose dedication and service have made a lasting impact.

✨ Congratulations to JJC Jarrie Mae N. Montimor for bringing pride to Junior Jaycees University of Cebu through her exemplary project, UCJJC Chapter Convention and Primo Award, which received the Best Award and the Efficiency Award during the Phoenix Awards. Your commitment to excellence and innovation continues to inspire our chapter and exemplifies what purposeful leadership can achieve.

✨ We also proudly recognize JJC Windy Lyn Narido-Nengasca for being honored with the Most Outstanding Past Junior Jaycee Award. Your years of dedication, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to the movement have left a legacy that continues to inspire present and future Jaycees.

✨ With heartfelt remembrance, we honor JJC Kriselle Caye Miñoza, who was posthumously recognized with the JCI Sen. David Chua-Unsu Memorial Award. Though you are no longer with us, your passion for service, leadership, and the values you embodied continue to resonate within our organization.

50th National Convention | Day 1 – Welcoming Night

Junior Jaycees University of Cebu proudly showcased the vibrant culture and heritage of the Queen City of the South through a special performance of the Sinulog Festival Dance during the Welcoming Night of the 50th National Convention.

As one of Cebu’s most celebrated and meaningful cultural traditions, the Sinulog dance served as a warm welcome to Junior Jaycees delegates from across the country. Through this performance, our chapter shared the spirit, faith, energy, and rich cultural identity that make Cebu truly exceptional.

Our sincerest appreciation goes to our vibrant choreographer, our very own 2023–2024 Local Organization President, JJC Sheldon C. Costardo Jr., for passionately leading the Sinulog performance and ensuring that every step reflected the pride and heritage of Cebu.
