🛶🛻🚜How did you get to work today?
For most of us living in cities, the answer is simple. A car. A bus. A short walk. Maybe a quick trip across town.
For our incredible CSNU Kiunga outreach team, getting to work this week meant 16 hours in a dinghy, followed by a stuck vehicle, and then sitting on the back of a tractor for 5 hours, to reach the Iowara community and deliver vital screening and assistive devices.
This is what care, accessibility and advocacy look like in action.
It looks like travelling across rivers, rough terrain and remote roads so vulnerable communities can access the screening, support and assistive devices they need. It looks like giving vital access to communities, listening to communities, building trust and responding with practical support that is safe, respectful and meaningful.
At CSNU, we believe all persons with disabilities in PNG deserve the opportunity to participate fully in community life, access quality care and build a brighter future.
Inclusion does not happen from a distance. It happens when essential services reach the people who need them most. It happens when communities are supported with dignity, kindness and compassion.
