To everyone who supported Mary Potter Hospice Street Appeal — thank you. 💛 So grateful for each and every one of our incredible volunteers.
Whether you donated, volunteered, smiled, waved, stopped for a chat, shared our posts, or stood alongside our collectors, we are so grateful. 💛
1News covered what many of us in the hospice sector are navigating right now. Across New Zealand, hospices are facing a real funding shortfall — and our CE Tony Paine speaks about the growing pressure hospices across Aotearoa are facing, as rising costs and funding shortfalls make it harder to keep providing care at the level our communities need. For Mary Potter Hospice, less than half of our funding comes from the Government, and the rest must be raised through the generosity of our community.
Tony put it simply: people are generous, even when times are tough. And that generosity -yours, is what keeps us here for the families who need us most.💛
That is why your support means so much. Every donation helps us continue providing free hospice care, comfort and support for people and whānau across Wellington, Porirua and Kāpiti.
Please take a moment to read and share the story and if you can, consider making a donation.
