Thank you for your support and our famous pink stock sticks RX Plastics NZ 💓

A huge shoutout to everyone who supported the IHC Calf & Rural Scheme by buying a pink stock stick at Fieldays. We're proud to support this initiative and, together, we sold an incredible 1,500 sticks (they sold out early on Saturday...a great problem to have)!

Special thanks to Shane (RXP Territory Manager) and Lynda from IHC for organising the stock sticks for our site - and to the RXP sales team for getting behind it. We’re proud to play a small part in making a big difference.

"Fieldays is always a great opportunity to say thank you to our wonderful farming and rural supporters, and to connect with key rural businesses that help cover many of our costs. This ensures that as much as possible of each farmer’s donation goes directly to supporting people with intellectual disabilities and their families in rural communities.

A huge thank you to PGG Wrightson, who have supported us from the beginning, the Alflex team who provide our distinctive pink eartags at no charge, and RX Plastics, whose specialty pink stock sticks are a real hit at Fieldays each year.

It’s always a pleasure to meet with IHC’s wonderful farming supporters. When we ask why they support the work of IHC in rural communities, they often reply in such an understated way: “It’s just what you do.”

Fieldays is a highlight of our year. This year, the sun shone and the mood was positive."

🐄 A lovely moment at the IHC Calf & Rural Scheme stand at Fieldays.

Rachel visited our stand and proudly held up a tote bag featuring her son Christian’s artwork. Christian created this artwork for the IHC Art Awards last year, a wonderful depiction of New Zealand’s iconic character Fred Dagg, alongside his dog and sheep.

Pledge a calf, virtual calf or make a donation and receive a free tote bag. There are four designs to collect, and each pledge receives a tote bag, while stocks last.

🎙️ A big thank you to Rural Exchange for inviting Greg Millar, IHC National Manager of Fundraising, onto their Fieldays podcast.

Located right next door to the our stand, the Rural Exchange team has been doing a fantastic job sharing stories from around Fieldays. Greg enjoyed the opportunity to talk to rural New Zealand about our Calf & Rural Scheme, our amazing farmer supporters, and Sir Colin Earl Meads, who helped create this incredible fundraiser 44 years ago.

We're grateful for the ongoing support of the rural community, whose generosity continues to make a real difference in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and their whānau across Aotearoa.

Sunrise over Fieldays, day two 🌅

We are getting ready for another big day connecting with farmers, rural communities and supporters from across Aotearoa. If you're at Fieldays today, come and visit us at stand PA1B to learn more about the scheme and the different ways you can get involved.

You can talk to us about pledging livestock, where animals are sold and the sale price is donated to IHC. Many farmers also choose to donate a virtual calf, which can be made as a one-off gift or as an ongoing regular contribution.

We’d love to see you and share how your support helps people with intellectual disabilities and their families in rural communities across New Zealand.
