Selection Workshop | Day 4

On the final day of the Selection Workshop, participants explored the concept of Manaakitanga; hospitality, reciprocity, and extending love and care to others. This value is at the heart of working together and reflects key aspects of CLYLP, including Indigenous research methodology.

Participants also completed their English Language Assessment before coming together for a final reflection session, sharing their key learnings, memorable moments, and hopes for the journey ahead.

Four memorable days of learning, meaningful conversations, and shared experiences that strengthened connections between Aotearoa New Zealand πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ, Laos πŸ‡±πŸ‡¦, and Cambodia πŸ‡°πŸ‡. Laying the foundation for a journey of growth that will continue well beyond the workshop. 🌿

Selection Workshop | Day 3 🌿

Day 3 introduced participants to the concept of Kaitiakitanga that highlight guardianship and caring for what matters most, especially the natural environment.

The learning continued with a Cultural Exchange Storytelling activity, where participants shared stories from their own cultures, before closing the day with a reflection on 'what we value, what we protect, and what we carry forward'.

🌟 Celebrating Our Mentors | Volunteer Week 2026 🌟
As we celebrate Volunteer Week, we recognise and thank the incredible mentors who have generously volunteered their time, expertise, and networks to support participants in the Cambodia Laos Young Leaders Programme (CLYLP) 2025/26.

Through mentorship, field visits, meaningful conversations, and professional connections, our mentors help young leaders gain new perspectives, strengthen their leadership skills, and deepen their understanding of sustainable development challenges and opportunities.

Volunteering is about creating positive change in the lives of others. Through their guidance and encouragement, our mentors have made a lasting impact on the next generation of leaders from Cambodia and Laos.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge, opening doors to new opportunities, and inspiring our young leaders to lead with purpose.
