Waitarere Beach Playgroup

Waitarere Beach Playgroup We are a little local playgroup at Waitārere Beach. We meet Mondays 10am -12
School term only.
$10 per child per term.

Morning tea provided for kiddys and adults. We are a community group where caregivers and children come together for play and support.

Anyone have a couple bags of dirt lying round? Doesn't need to be fancy dirt but just not sand.
We have 4 holes that need filling at playgroup where old posts were removed.

The posts will be reused to edge our playground to put in softfall woodchips.

Very grateful to our landlords the Waitārere Progressive Society who have made this happen.
Thankyou so much Glynis who organised this project and thanks for the digger driver paid for by the Easton family.
Thankyou Doug Easton, Murray Powell and the two Bruce's for building the sandpit.
Thankyou Euan from ITM Levin who donated the timber to make it.
(Sorry if I have forgotten anybody).
Our tamariki are in it every day now. It is such an asset and very much enjoyed.

Shade sails and a proper cover are being applied for 🤞 through grants
The mud kitchen is here waiting to be installed. Paid for by the forest long lunch that our wonderful community supported so generously.

Being almost beachfront we are in a tsunami zone.
Please familiarize yourself with this attached information.
If there ever were a warning or a long and strong earthquake the priority would be evacuating everyone - including those who walked to playgroup- immediately.

He fixed our leaking and broken T junction on our hot water cylinder at Playgroup, for free. (We had a water feature in our kitchen). 💧
Aannnd it turns out he has fixed many broken little bits and peices of plumbing last year. Thankyou Matt. Such a professional and friendly Plumber.

His children went through playgroup but have since graduated so very appreciative that you lent a hand (or spanner?)
Just want to put it out there, support this local business.

Also thankyou to Murray who dehumidified and cleaned up.

Playgroup building shut today.

Major leak in kitchen in a hard to access area. A strange little hot water cylinder. mold and warped wood. It's been going on for a while. Discovered yesterday after a playground progress meeting. Can't use our water till it's fixed and we'll kill the mold before we have kiddys back.
