Have you ever thought about shipping a container for use in Zimbabwe, but worry about the cost of getting the container to Zimbabwe?

If your answer is yes, the Zimbabwe Rural Schools Library Trust can help. You buy your container in New Zealand, and we load it with material bound for rural schools, and pay for shipment. We offload the material when it gets to Zimbabwe, and you take possession of your container.

A number of rural schools, particularly those in remote areas have for years been recording zero pass rates in public examinations. Lack of reading material was identified as a major cause.

The Zimbawe Rural Schools Library Trust New Zealand is playing a part in redressing the situation. The Trust has mobilised learning materials from New Zealand and supplied to rural schools. Schools which received learning materials have recorded improved results.

One of us, Prisca Gonzo-Sairai, has roped in her family in Christchurch, New Zealand, to revive our sausage sizzle fundraising programme. Charles Chindove in the same city, and others members across New Zealand, are actively supporting this revival. Sausage sizzle fundraising was very popular in the years 2014 to 2021.

We are back in action.

In the picture Prisca proudly shows off our newly printed banner.

Mother Teresa once said we can not all do great things but we can all do small things with great love. Thanks to all the Points of Light who supported the project of building Mawandu Early Childhood Development Centre in my home village Tandi Rusape. As a result of the great initiative and collaboration between Tariro Project and the Zimbabwe Rural Schools Library Trust, Mawandu ECD is now rated one of the top ECD in Makoni West in producing top grade one students.
