"Winter is coming"
Staying warm and well is crucial.

From mid-June Aroha Mai Cancer Support Services will have our annual winter wellness packs available for all our clients.

Thanks to a generous donation from the "Hakrae Lee Whanau" this years packs are the best yet.
We expect every client will receive a pack.

As an added incentive to those who visit our office to pick up their pack, as a client you can select a knitted item (slippers, scarfs, beanies or socks etc)

Thanks to Heather, Julie, Lorraine, Kathy, Trish, Vanessa, Marie and the Wacky Warm Ups Team.

Latest Cancer Support Hui.

Our group is gaining momentum, with 7 Tane attending yesterdays April hui (that's 9 all up)

Started hui with a prayer.

The group shared their own experiences, comparing their story's, particularly around treatment and side effects that included some shocking events.
But even within all the paru we even had a few laughs.

All agreeing how misdiagnosis, late diagnosis and discrimination play a frustratingly hoha part in the whole early check of symptoms- provides the best cancer outcome - theory.

They believed and agreed unanimously;

1) Everyone is born with Cancer, but it comes out when your defenses are at their weakest"

2) Genetics too, so be careful picking your parents LOL

3) Lifestyle choices may be a factor in some cases

Will meet again next month
Finished hui with a karakia.

We welcome all Aroha Mai clients to come along,
For Wahine call Deanna to inquire about forming a support group.

As is the case with any koha - made to Aroha Mai - it will be used to support our Aroha Mai clients and their whanau (with 2026 winter wellness packs a priority)
