Hi everyone, we’re sad to announce that the Mudduro for this year has been cancelled. Thanks to everyone who rallied on the last day to buy a ticket. Unfortunately we didn’t get enough sales in the end to come close to breaking even. It’s great running these races and seeing everyone get a kick out of riding the trails in race condition but the low entries also meant there also wouldn’t have been much of a field for the more competitive of you.

All tickets will be refunded pretty quickly by Eventbrite so please let us know in a day or two if this doesn’t happen. Hopefully we’ll get a good show out for the enduro at the end of summer. Please support us by attending dig days, shuttle days and races so we can keep quality trails in Riverhead Forest free to ride.

Cheers, everyone.

Hi everyone. We've got a few more entries for the Mudduro in the past 24 hours but we're still short. We've put off the final, final decision until this evening so if you're teetering on the fence or have any mates you could give a heads up to, please do! If we need to cancel, we'll refund all ticket sales so far. Thanks everyone.

Hi everyone. We are really short of entries for the WCRC 2026 Mudduro. The weather forecast is looking good for this week and we need more entries to run the race. If we don't get enough entries in the next 24 hours, unfortunately we will have to cancel. Please support the West Coast Riders Club to keep quality trails free to ride in Riverhead Forest. We use all club funds and volunteer labour to further this goal. We will update you on the situation tomorrow morning. Link to Eventbrite tickets below.

We have recently updated our Creekside and WCRC compound trail grades on Trailforks to match the latest New Zealand Mountain Bike Trail Design Guidelines.
To quote Recreation Aotearoa
'RA have coordinated a project that started in 2015, initially led by ACC with the aim of producing New Zealand Trail Design and Construction guidelines.
Discrepancies in Mountain bike trail grading around NZ are common. In a lot of cases this has resulted in a really unsatisfying user experience and even injuries. These guidelines will go some way towards addressing that problem'

Most trails have gone up one or two grades. Trails with gap jumps now have to be a min of grade 5. We have even filled in a couple of gaps to avoid moderate trails becoming grade 5.
A lot of clubs around NZ are in the middle of updating their grading.
We expect these grading changes to split the community with some users feeling upset and others pleased that there will eventually be closer grading alignment between trail networks.
Signs will be installed hopefully before the main summer season. Please let us know what you think about the changes (after you have read the guide start to finish)

WCRC's second dig day for winter 2026 is this Sunday July 19th at 9am.

Once again we will be working on the Creekside trails. This time Primo and Holey Chute trails will receive some attention.

Best tool for the day will be a spade. A mattock will come in handy as well. The club will have plenty of spare tools on hand for you to use.

Meet at the WCRC main carpark and we will head in from there!

Young rippers hitting a couple of new jumps we built on Smoker at The WCRC Compound yesterday. Machine Job has had so much work over the last couple of years that Smoker was falling behind. We're trying to rectify that situation. Stay tuned for our first winter dig day coming up!
