YOUNG RIDERS TV | Season 6 is here!

Season 6 of Young Riders has launched, just in time for the Easter school holidays

Follow young Kiwi riders as they train, compete, and chase their show-jumping goals. It’s a great insight into the effort, learning, and commitment that go into the sport.

Most of the riders featured began their journey at Pony Club, including:

Hi everyone, to help clear up any confusion around ring criteria, here is a quick breakdown of each class:

Lead Rein – Children must ride on lead and remain on lead for the entire day.

Kindy – Riders must be 11 years or under and must not have competed in any Novice classes (e.g. Novice Pony or Novice Hack) at other ribbon days. We’re happy to support children who are transitioning between lead and off-lead, and a parent may assist when needed.

Novice Pony & Hack – Open to riders under 21 years of age who have not won a Maiden or Open class.

Masters – Open to all riders 21 years and older. There are no restrictions on previous wins. This class is designed to be a fun and relaxed outing—perfect for giving younger horses exposure to a show environment or for adults who are new to riding or returning after time away.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and took part in the Waimauku Pony Club Twilight Dressage Series! From a rainy first evening to the postponement of the second night, we were lucky to finish the series on a truly beautiful summer’s evening. We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Canter for Cancer for generously sponsoring a rug to be presented at this event. We truly appreciate your support.

Congratulations to our overall series winner, Flynn, who achieved the highest combined score across the two nights - a fantastic effort!
