At Te Whare Koha with the Tuesday recycling club 🥰

Love hanging out here with everyone and getting the unusable clothing sent to a second life rather than to landfill.

A huge Thank You to Leana and Jase for all the support for our budding charity. 💚♻️

Today we are blessed to have Sonia and her team of textile recyclers working out of Te Whare Koha Highbury: Te Roopu Oranga O Highbury Trust

Pssst... Pass it on...

Black Friday drives a sharp rise in impulse buying, production, and waste. The environmental impact outlasts the sale.

Buy what you need. Leave what you don’t.

Your wallet (and the planet) will thank you tomorrow. 🖤

This week I had the amazing privilege of attending both days of the NZ SDG Summit 2025 held at Massey University with sponsorship from Environment Network Manawatu and Palmerston North City Council. Thank you so much to Di Koch and Amy Viles for your awhi me o tautoko.

So many amazing speakers, ideas and information! My mind has been blown. Most relevant to me was the talk by Trisia Farrelly ONZM, who among many marvelous things is a co-founder of the Plastics Pollution Alliance (NZ) and representative from Aotearoa New Zealand in formulating the Global Plastics Treaty. I hope that one day we can prevent plastic clothing from entering NZ at all 💚

If you haven't heard of SDGs, they stand for Sustainable Development Goals. They are 17 goals developed by the United Nations for countries to work on to improve the health and wellbeing of humans and the planet.

This is our first product (literally the very first one). Coloured cotton-rich t-shirt rags, packaged in a coloured cotton tshirt.

These rags consist of freshly laundered charity waste tshirts, cut into convenient sizes, and made from at least 95% cotton.

We can also make rags to your requirements (some lead time involved currently); white 100% cotton, cotton rich, cotton sheeting, cotton toweling, cotton flannel, sized to suit your needs. Please email or message us to enquire.

All proceeds from rag sales will go back into textile rescue efforts. We are 100% in support of charities.

The first wool fadge containing 98kg of polycotton, polyester and other synthetic clothing is on its way to Textile Products in Auckland on a Mainfreight truck. I am beyond stoked to have these two companies step up and offer to be partners in this budding sustainability initiative. 💚
