Kia ora whānau,

If you're looking for something meaningful for your tamariki to be involved in during the second week of the school holidays, our Merritt whānau will be running a wānanga with our rangatahi here in our rohe.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our young people to learn and develop skills in dance, acting, and performance, while building confidence and connecting with others. We are also fortunate to have our nephew, Poroaki helping to facilitate the wānanga. He has experience in both film and television, having appeared in Muru and Shortland Street, and will be sharing his knowledge and passion for the performing arts with our rangatahi.
The wānanga will conclude with a production for our hapori on Saturday.
There is no cost to participate. We do ask that any tamariki who register are committed to attending and completing the full wānanga, as they will be performing in the final showcase on Saturday.
If your child is interested, we'd love to have them join us. Ages: 12 years up.

⚠️ COMMUNITY NOTICE ⚠️

We are aware of an incident involving someone door knocking in our community and falsely claiming to represent our organisation.

The person reportedly told whānau that we are “no longer contacting patients by phone.”

At this stage, we are aware of one incident, however we wanted to let our community know so everyone can stay informed and safe.

Please remember:
- Our staff still contact whānau by phone
- Our staff will be able to provide identification if asked
- Don’t share personal information with anyone at your door
- If something does not feel right, trust your instincts

Check in with kaumātua and vulnerable family members to ensure they are aware.
If you experience anything similar let us know.

Please share this post to help keep our community informed and protected.

Got 2 mins?
Scan the QR code and have your say.

We’re shaping how we talk with our people about the 2026 General Election — and it needs to be real, relevant, and grounded in our communities.
This quick survey will help us understand the barriers, experiences, and hopes of our whānau across Aotearoa and within our rohe.

We especially want to hear from those who don’t usually vote. Your voice matters — and it’s often the one missing.
Take action:

Let’s build messaging that actually connects with our people.
